Making QUIRKY Characters and NEW Levels for my CREEPY indie game - Devlog #6

In this #devlog 6, I create a funny and cute little NPC named Pinto, the Sad Bean Man. He's meant to be the first character you encounter that you can communicate with so it was important that his design be very aesthetic and fun. He's also got a very fun little bit of voice acting attached to his dialogue system.
You get to see the process of taking Pinto from concept art to an actual interactable character in my indie game. In this video and in this game I use Blender 3d, Unity engine, Substance 3D, Krita art, and other softwares! (And no, I don't plan on switching to Unreal Engine no matter how many times people ask!)
I also set up a tutorial section in the game to introduce you to the game better and attached it to the hubworld scene in the engine.
The last thing I did was update the Loading Screen in the game to be more interesting!
If you're not familiar with my Devlog Series on the game design of my indie game, let me give a brief description! In Toby's Topsy Tale, you play as a gingerbread man trying to find out what happened to his creator! The game was Kickstarter funded and is a psychological horror 3D Platformer!

Love the level ideas so far! Definitely keep in mind the first rule of game lighting, never have pitch black in your game unless it's like a straight up horror game

Great job so far ❤ Got to agree with some of the other comments here about the brightness. You can still keep it dark, but maybe add a bit more ambient light or light sources like fireflies. Love the early character designs, kinda feels like we're in the Shrek universe haha

Looking good so far. Most of your stuff looks great! Only your main character needs some more work. Walk animations looks weird ( legs to far to the outside, nice for idle not for walking ), in the idle animation remove the arm and body wave, arms are always in the T pose, face looks a bit too happy too me.

Of course! Thank you for supporting me by commenting! I think for devlogs it's important to have a project you're passionate about and it's good to highlight the visuals and graphics as soon as possible and get those looking better because Devlogs need good visuals. Other than that I guess just take it slow and record footage every time you make a step in your game's development. I'm motivated to do these because I'm genuinely excited every time I make a bit of progress and I'm excited to share that with others and that's a good energy to have for Devlogs I think

you should make pintos sister have no legs to like when they go around they just stack on top of each other and a death animation for toby would be him being dunked into milk another thing is make pintos sister have a dead body and make her beans be spilling out and you can eat the beans to heal yourself (more ideas) you should make a leval called the. Memory where depending on who you killed they would be reserected mutatutatd monster's and tobys eyes are mor realistic and at the end of the level it shows the rotting corpse of Tobias jhones in his own purgitory for murdering his girlfriend tilly winsworth and her two younger sibling's pinto and pintos sister one died from there arms being ripped off same for the other but with the leg's tobys corpse will twitch as he died from tillys mothers chrismas gingerbreadman which had been poisoned the storyof tobys topsy tale is the story of one awful man getting sent to purgatory for what he has done to a innocent family because his girlfriend didn't like him drinking

What if the character pivoted at his feet when he fell flat instead of sliding like he is now. It seems that the pivot point is at his center of mass instead of the contact point between him and the ground
