@@GaithreeDeviLuckan it’s the drier version. Made with butter, sugar, water, almonds etc. The butter is melted with the elachi n cinnamon, water and sugar is added and it’s cooked until done. Nuts and coconut is sprinkled at the end. Very simple recipe. Honestly I love both versions. Tnx again for sharing my dearest💜🌷

This is a lot like the cape malay dish called Boeber. Like most of the "malay" dishes here, it's a fusion of malay and indian/south east asian influence. We always look forward to it in Ramadan or special occasions, such a yum comfort food. Looking forward to trying your recipe :)

Yes you can substitute. Often margarine is just the more economic choice but it also contains salt so if we wish to make the recipe salt-less we will substitute with ghee
