I like the idea of being able to make any size necessary to a specific application. Cool stuff!

+TIM WILSON Yes, I have also made smaller tenons on smaller pieces using smaller pvc pipe.

Really terrific idea! Suggestion: How about putting a second magnetic hold down in front of the PVC thus locking it in? You should still be able to rotate the wood without worrying about kickback....... Steve

+Sapele Steve I think that would increase the chance of a kickback by confining it. Any irregularities caused by the blade pushing it away from the fence are removed by passing all areas of the tenon over the blade several times.

Thoughts on Matthias Wandel's panto router? Your method is much easier to set up but his has more versatility.

+Jarod Morris I don't have a panto-router but from what I have seen, it is pretty cool and has a lot of capabilities. I like the metal version, seems like it would be more rigid and precise.

Did you make the block with the magnets in it yourself? If so, what kind of magnets are you using and where can you buy those? Love seeing the creative mind at work, thanks for sharing

+Lars de Waardt I bought the magnets a few years ago on Amazon. They are pretty handy. www.amazon.com/Magswitch-MAGJIG-150-MagJig/dp/B001B8HMKG/ref=sr_1_3?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1458947799&sr=1-3&keywords=mag+jig
