GREAT ADVICE. I'm a total beginner but I've posted a sci-fi/post apocalyptic short in which I've used minimal efx but it conveys the story well. This video is a confirmation to me that I'm going in the right direction.

Can you show the actual green screen footage so we can compare that to the finished product to see what will be needed as a filmmaker?

This is great! I have always wanted to make films but can't decide what camera to get. Do you have any recommendations? I was thinking about a Canon DSLR such as the T7i or something. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Wow, this episode was perfect for me! Another tip from a fellow filmmaker who also happens to be working on a Sci-Fi film :We actually made the smart decision to shoot things mainly in natural environments, like woods and forest, even writing into in as a factor in the script. This way, huge elaborate sets aren't an issue, and we can go up to pretty much nay public park and film. Also, up here in Washington, pretty much everything is woodland, so there's never a issue of losing a location. (P.S., That little pop at the end of the it'safilmthing intro, actually caught me off guard, don't know why, its like really surreal, lol)

If you're green screening in pre-made CGI shots...you ain't tryin. Some of the best movies ever made were shot in one room. Setting limitations for yourself can be the best way to harvest your creativity and the audience will respect that. Necessity is the mother of invention.

Very basic tips indeed. I´m not sure, if Salvador is happy with that? But I agree: Greenscreen and Compositing are the Key for zero-budget Sci Fi. Maybe some "making of" examples had helped Salvador a bit more. Most Apsis-shorts are own episodes of existing Hollywoodfilms. Does that make sense? Greetings...

Can anyone help me here? I currently have: 3 adjustable green screens (5x10 each) inside a semi large living room with high ceilings. 2 decent softbox lights 2 umbrella lights iPhone 11 camera Gimbel stabilizer, tripod, & selfie stick. Im aiming to film a badass music video that will have a virtual background, then hire an experienced editor to bring it all to life. Now I'm browsing TURBOSQUID for a 3D environment background for my green screen, but I have no clue what requirements I should be looking for. I know nothing about polygons or the formatting of this kinda stuff. Can someone throw me a clue here?

James DeRuvo When my wife and I got laid off with a couple months of each other, I couldn't get a job and had to leave my apartment and move into my in-laws basement, my priorities shifted a bit... I'd love to do things the way I wanted to after Indy Mogul ended, but the real world was too busy kicking my ass, lol. It'll still appear every so often when I have something to post, but it won't be a regular thing.

I have ideas for 3 ci-fi movies all 3d animation I got 4 main characters I will be using face mate to take real faces and put them on 3d characters I use daz3d for my 3d artwork if you want to avoid license fees u can use z brush to make props and other things u need as well obj files are the standard if u make your props compatible with this file u can sell them on daz story board yes u need it I got to write a script as well that too it will give u a direction to follow happy film making and have fun doing it above all els do your research and ask questions there are no stupid questions only stupid answers giving by hecklers mostly who instead of helping want to make fun of your movie ideas but will steel them too so watch out for them
