What a nice video Basia! And i love the jewelry too! I make a lot of “botanical” jewelry, but it is so interesting how we all have our own approach on how to make a piece. Btw I stopped working in our vegetable garden to watch this 😄 now I’m off to go plant some more lettuce 👋🏻😘

omg, you're absolutely the best Karolien! Thank you so much for watching this early! 💕 I love your botanical jewellry, I think it's so organic and natural :) This ring was on my mind for a bit, but I wasn't sure I could pull this off. The challenge motivated me to try it :) I'm happy with the final effect, though I know what I would do differently next time 😀 Would you like to take part in the challenge? ;>> Sending you best of wishes my love 💕

Hiya & WOW! Dear Lady Stardust! You've done it again, again... I love the idea & the actual ring, almost a garden on your finger, (OK, another good idea). I love the way your mind works. Women love flowers, it's Easter therefore flowers for mum on Sunday, not this year so order a botanical ring & have it sent to mum, mum in law... Good practical ideas made to work... Your attention to detail is superb, just missing a bee! 16,000 people have said they like your work enough to follow it, I'm one of those & would never change that, my one regret is not having the ability to purchase from you or become a patron. I'm saving my pocket money so one day... Keep up this fantastic level of design & work, keep safe & take care... xx

@@TheArtOfMetalsmithing There are sick people everywhere who can only feel up by putting others down, sick little minds. They can't make wonderful pieces of art as you do so they nip at your ankles like the rats they are! I've found that if I find them & give them a thumbs down it upsets them... GOOD! Nobody likes that so the more of us that do it & put them in their place the better. Sad people with sad little minds! Rise above as you were destined to Lady Stardust, leave them in your dust. Basia, this video concept and the result is exquisite! Your filming is so good, even the mood you set while working is lovely, it's obvious you pour love into your pieces and they seem to pour love into you too. I have discovered a new bezel tool, the "SmoothSet" by Flowstudiosupply, it's made a big positive difference in my bezel - smoother and easier, less clean up. Thank you for creating these videos. Do you know anything about what would be a good fume vacuum/ metal collection system? You seem to do very good investigation on tools. PS. You have lovely hands, perfect for showing jewelry!!!

I adore your art, and I love love love watching your videos❣❣❣ Have you made a video of you showing where you place the solder when you solder a flower, the balls, or the base of the bezel? If so, what video is it? I've been looking for it, and if not would it be possible for you to make such a video? If that would not be something you would want to do, could you tell me of someone else, who you watch, that shows where they place the solder in such peices as this beautiful one you have made? Thank you so much, and God bless you and your family.💚

Great video! Love the ring! How do you like the knewconcepts saw compared to the Green Lion?
@TheArtOfMetalsmithing4 жыл бұрын
Hi! Thank you so much 💕 Oh, I love it! I like both, but I use them for different jobs. knewconcepts is super light and is super easy to operate, especially with more intricate designs. I like Green Lion for larger pieces, straight lines etc. It's a bit heavier, but I really like it too. If I absolutely had to choose one though, I think it would be knewconcepts (with the quick saw blade release), becasue of the work I specifically do. Hope that helps!

@@TheArtOfMetalsmithing Thank you! Yes, it is helpful. I have been trying to decide between the two for awhile and I think I am going to go with the knewconcepts :)

@@TheArtOfMetalsmithing Videos? Great the more the better for me... It does make a difference when it's not moving as much as you work, in fact just being able to do all on one surface & not, move here to hammer, back here to saw, over here to solder... Your time is worth money dear lady... so not playing frog & jumping allover the studio. I am envious but who needs these tools more? Keep up the great work & Nolli ilergitami carbarundum, Latin for don't let the b*stards grind you down! I can't spell in English let alone in Latin!!! I at least did English at school. So to re-cap, every thumbs up you get, every new subscriber, every piece you sell screams;- " UP YOURS!!!" So who is winning? Who has international firms backing her & her work? Listen to your heart dear lady... xx

Thank you so much Stephen, I appreciate it all so much!! Honestly. 💕💕💕 And I agree, having good bench and everything in one place, it's a worthy upgrade for sure. Since I'm not able to build anything here myself, I don't have the space nor the tools, I'm extremely happy to have a chance to use this bench. I think one could build a custom one easily though, using upcycled planks and drawers, that could be an exciting project for those, who can do it haha
@stephencoster95324 жыл бұрын
@@TheArtOfMetalsmithing Once appon a time I would have built my own but as you say having the tools does help... I've quite a simple bench, no drawers just a tool ledge off to one side, but I do like the raised lip to stop things rolling/falling off, because if they can they will. I have two wheeled drawer sets but they need to grow to fit what I want to put in them. I would not go back to not having the semi-circular cut out, a winner. Your paper filled top did make me smile when ever I saw it! It's great watching your equipment list grow, I can't think of anyone else who's work deserves it more. I've been trying to join Andrews 'At The Bench' but keep getting blocked, I wonder if there is no one doing their bit of the enrolment process? I just decided that if I'm going to make a real attempt at becoming a silversmith, or should I say jeweller as I will never make cups & platters in silver. My aim is to make what I'm asked to do & I would like to include the ability to set stones. That has always facinated me, how to keep the stones in without glue just a soft metal bent in to place... Will you ever have a shop or will you stay just on line? I would imagine the loss of passing trade, (People walking past who call in), would not cover the massive extra overheads with ease? Stay safe you two & take care...
