Making Storage Cubes

I had this idea of making 'storage cubes', as a means of organising (and mostly tidying up) the frequent clutter of my kitchen. I also saw it as a slight challenge in being able to, once again, make these in my own flat using a Black & Decker Workmate.
Not my finest piece of work but there may be some interest in the issues I have with pocket screw systems and the inadequacy of the Workmate.

Hi Olly, A useful project, you are right about MDF being heavy. It is satisfying when you can tidy 'stuff' away. Hope you had a good Christmas and good luck with flat hunting in 2018. Cheers.

Will Ford Hi Will, good to hear from you. I was wondering whether chipboard would be any lighter but I doubt it. I've been looking at flats over the last two months and, on average, the cheapest ones are likely to cost an extra £150-100 on top of what I currently pay! The cost of renting really has shot up in recent years. Hope you've had a good Christmas and I wish you well for the new year. :-)

Merry Christmas Olly. Nice video, and good sound quality on the narration. Ever since i read on your blog that you might find a workshop, i cross my fingers every time you upload, hoping you will share the news, that you have found a little space, with room for a table saw. I too was once forced to give up the space to have a table saw, and woodworking was still doable. But man - when i got it back, i just never wanted to let it go again :).

Peter G Merry Christmas, Peter and thank you for your comment. :-) I like to think that many of my subscribers are in that same boat... I really thought I had found one last year. We had a verbal agreement, it was affordable and local... But tragically, it fell through. I've had some 'time out' for a few years, done lots of hiking but now really want a creative space. I've got plenty of ideas for videos in the mean time and I'm both surprised and grateful that my following grows with each upload. Happy New Year to you as well. :-)
