Wish ikea explained on packaging that I need power tools for this, also it doesn’t line up. This is why Amazon is king. Can’t believe after 7 years of not stepping foot in an ikea I got the terrible idea of buying this crap

Actually, when I came to dismantle this shed about 18 months ago, the cheap tarp had mostly rotted away, left in tatters. I've had weed suppressant membranes before and found they don't last any longer and always let some weeds through.

Nicely done! How did you determine the angle of taper of the runners?
@OllyParryJones
@OllyParryJones 2 ай бұрын
Thank you! There's a method of determining it that involves drawing it out to scale and marking the two points on that drawing (or rod) where the same point on the runners starts and ends; then joining those marks with a straight line. Not easy to explain in a KZbin comment but I hope that makes some sense.

So Hejne or Ivar, given enough space, which would you rather use for all sorts of things in archive boxes?
@OllyParryJones
@OllyParryJones 3 ай бұрын
Ivar is definitely more of a heavy duty solution. But I did find those shelves would start to sag under load. I never tried this but fitting battens underneath each shelf may help to strengthen it. Shelfs on the Hejne units are much thinner by comparison. I hope this helps and thanks for your question.

It used to so easy to replace brushes on old drills, they use to just leave two removable plugs to easily replace them.

Oh, I know! Not sure why they changed that but a lot of tools now are 'brushless'. Not something I fully understand and I wonder what other 'failsafe' there might be to protect the motor, without brushes.

So the observator is important and will need drilling.
@OllyParryJones
@OllyParryJones Жыл бұрын
I wouldn't assemble an Ikea unit without an Observator, unless you're fixing it to the wall in several places. Drill pilot holes helps to get the screws in to the wood but you could drive the screws in to the wood without drilling.

I have around 25% of the liquid you have gathered in yours In exactly 10 days of sitting in my kitchen I want to know what is normal and what is not? I feel it is so humid in my kitchen
@OllyParryJones
@OllyParryJones Жыл бұрын
Interesting. The flat I was jn (on the ground floor) was very damp, not so much humid. It's possible that you have a better airflow and ventilation in yours? Therefore, more ambient moisture is allowed to exit the room or building. My extractor fan in this bathroom was very poor and slow running. With no permanent heating in there, warn moisture droplets would condense around the cold window and walls.
