OMG! This made my day. Thanks,Tom! I did have to take a moment between watching the first and second times through to pop over to thegeebee.com and pick up a copy of the plan. You've really channeled your inner Dave Rees this time. The plan is as beautiful as the finished model, and how cool is it that two Toms came together to bring the plan to the public?
@maxfliart3 жыл бұрын
Thx, Jason. Dave Rees has been on my mind throughout this entire project. Very pleased that TN2 came through to help with the plan. Seeing it printed is a reminder of how large this model is. Enrique might build a peanut version!!

So inspiring. Broke my back paragliding few years back. Max you’ve given me back the joy of flight. I’ve built and successfully flown my first model in 40 years - Keillor Kraft Ace. I hope one day to be able to build and fly something as beautiful as your Babcock. Can’t thank you enough. Watching your videos is helping me recover not just the joy of flight but a sense of peace. Bless you. Barrie in UK 🇬🇧

Always amazed by your beautiful work and peaceful conveyance. As soon as I retire, not too long from now, I strive to restart this hobby I had 50 years ago, of course with the poor quality results that a child of yore without guidance could have. Luckily it planted a seed that at my 40s could become a dream come true, I became a private pilot, and for ten years enyojed flying many single engine types and my own plane, a PA-22 Tri-Pacer even older than myself. Thank you so much for your videos.

This was your plane that got me interested into Free Flight, simply beautiful.
Wow! What a masterful job of creating this model. It flys as good as it looks, too. This reminds me of my model building back in the 1950's but I never built anything this complex or as GOOD! It was sure fun though and gave me hours of pleasure. I can almost smell the balsa, Ambroid glue and dope. It taught me patience, imagination and basic skills, something my grandson's video games lack. Your video shows the construction very well; I enjoyed it very much.
@maxfliart3 жыл бұрын
Thx Paul. Well said. I'm sure ur experience was the same for many of us. Although I don't miss trying to peel the Ambroid off my fingertips.

Thank You for building this. You’ve taken a design that wasn’t elegant and showed what the builder had in his mind. You’ve also shown the world how to build it. I’m an old modeler but always learn from your build videos. The flight is proof of concept and gives us an idea of why light is right! Love the music

If I had to choose one video to show why Tom Hallman is #1 rubber powered scale aeromodeler in the world, it might well be this. I have seen every category of builder/flyer in 61 years on this planet, and I guess rubber power scale is my fave. This leaves me SPEECHLESS, which is a not inconsiderable relief, no doubt, to those who know me well.. I certainly HAVE checked out the louvres vid; I esp like the bit where you get uniformity in the ends of the slots with the round section thing, and hardening up the backs with ca glue.. Everything seems simple, but only once a Master has explained it.. A bit like violin technique. 👍

Thank you for sharing your great experience, your knowledges about modeling, like the lighter technics to make parts from cardboard, foam, with self-made tools, plus the precious websites links, etc... I don't have your building level but this is inspiring to create some parts of my models. Even the choice of the Babcock LC-13 is original, beautiful, with a building structure very close to the real aviation. At the end we can see this forgotten bird take to the air with majesty, like in a dream...Gorgeous...

Once again, I am mesmerized by your skill and attention to detail. I have the Stahl Hurricane fuselage on my building board and it looks pitiful! Maybe I should stick with laser cut kits and leave scratch building for the pro's. I say that and I have three Easy Build kits in various stages of completion. I keep snapping the fuselages with those 1/16 longerones.
