Am I the only non-sewing person watching Bianca who doesn’t understand, what she is explaining while drafting her pattern? This does not stop me from thoroughly enjoying Bianca’s videos! And I am always in awe of her creativity and talent! And sense of humor!!

No, I’m with you. I don’t sew a stitch but I love watching those who do, maybe in the hopes of absorbing knowledge by osmosis-I don’t know. Anyway, I don’t have to know sewing to find Bianca fascinating and entertaining, lol.😊

I can’t tell you how very much I enjoy your videos, Bianca! You are succinct, clear, and give wonderful insights. I’ve been a seamstress for more than 50 years now, sewing everything from tactical gear to quilts, to competition dance costumes to clothing, and draperies and soft home furnishings, slipcovers and some upholstery. Through all this, I’ve never made my own pattern blocks, though I’ve adjusted and refit many a pattern. I declare, using your own blocks looks so much easier! Thank you for the amazing effort and time you put into this channel and for sharing it so generously here. Much love to you. ♥️

Thank you so much!! Dance costuming would be so intimidating to me with all the needed movement 😅 I worked at a fabric shop for a summer once that sold a lot of stretch fabrics and also beautiful trims for dance and ice skating costumes, and it must be so much fun to design them! I'm sure you would pick up drafting fast with all the experience in adjusting patterns ✨

I can't put my finger on why your slash-and-pivot demonstrations make so much more sense than all the instructions for adjusting and transferring fullness I've ever read, or heard, or had someone show me in person. I wonder if it's as simple as the overhead camera, and not trying to avoid bumping into the teacher? I love watching you work. It's at once clear and rapid.

Hi Bianca - That noise your computer is making could be the fans on your graphics driver. I also make videos and this happened to me about a year and a half ago - if your computer is a laptop, it's very dicey to replace the graphics driver, as the small area means other things could get messed up in the process of replacing the driver. I had to buy a new laptop with more a powerful graphics driver. Hope this helps! Love the fabric of this blouse!

It looks beautiful on you. Have you ever made yourself a white, cotton, lacy blouse? I'm thinking of making myself one (although I can't think of a single place where I could wear it and feel comfortable). I've been wearing jeans and T-shirts for too long. All women and girls had several nice white blouses back in the 1950's. I always had at least five all the way up until 1966.

Glitter on fabric. DON'T DO IT. I made one skirt with glitter on the surface and the first time I made it, it shed everywhere. Tinkerbel was following me that night. Also, it does not wash. If you want a glittery effect, di as Bianca and get a fabric with mettalic woven in.

how do you clean / take care of your silk? I want to use it, love the iridescence but the care/ having to dry clean makes me think twice bout it.
@TheClosetHistorian7 ай бұрын
You can always hand wash the silk first before cutting and sewing to get any effects out of the way, shrinkage etc. and then you can hand wash the garment from then on without further surprises. I often wear thin layers underneath things that are easier to toss in the wash, so that I don't have to dry clean anything more than a few times a year ✨

hey I was watching a video on drop shipping and image searched the belt to see if it had matches... It did. the brand Aria Margo has the exact same belt for $129, it's the same pictures and everything. The listing is called "Slim Black Leather Corset Belt", in case anyone wants a better deal.
@TheClosetHistorian8 ай бұрын
The brand is the same, they have their own website and also an Etsy shop as well ✨ The prices go up slightly depending on the belt size, due to the cost of the leathers, which are super nice quality and in general I highly recommend them!

@@TheClosetHistorian totally fair, I think I'd rather go through their own website since on Etsy the larger sizes are more expensive! Still, such a beautiful piece and goes so well with the blouse you made

How come you never make shirt patterns and just use your basic bodice block pattern? I want to know how to do dart manipulation on an actual shirt pattern.
@TheClosetHistorian8 ай бұрын
To me a bodice block /is/ a basic shirt pattern. I do things as I was taught to in university training, where all patterns begin from blocks. Still, you can do dart manipulation on any blouse pattern, or indeed any pattern with darts, as the technique remains the same no matter what top pattern you start with. If you would like to see a longer loser more traditional button down shirt, I have a version here on the channel kzbin.info/www/bejne/aJi7XmChjruKgsk The remaining dart in that blouse can be put into the neckline as gathers using the same techniques I show in this video.
