I recently completed a walnut book-matched slab table about this size. I cheated and used power tools. 😁. My trestle isn’t quite as elaborate, but I was actually as proud of the trestle as the slab. Everyone comments on the slab but they don’t see the detail in the trestle. Such is the life of a woodworker! I hope this never leaves your family. We have two children and they told me I have to make another so they don’t fight over it. You will have the same problem!

James, you already know how much I love this table. I'd be willing to bet that the glow and flicker from the fireplace would light the epoxy areas up quite nicely. Going through the process, I did not expect the end result. I thought it was going to be another shiny table with dark blue accents. When I saw you scrapping off the the shiny surface and apply the stain, it came to life. You certainly know what your doing. Great job!
