So weird how despite the opposite aesthetics, this channel still gives me all the same cozy, informative, creative feelings as the Crafsman. Never stop dude. You're the reason I got back into the hobby and what inspired me to start kitbashing/bootlegging/modelling! 💜

Great video! Love the “old school technology technique!” Too many creators run to the 3d printer or buy someone else’s work- there is a level of creativity, ingenuity, and pride from making things the older ways! Technology isn’t always better.

Quick unsolicited advice for future jacket molds - consider using clay wall to make a cleaner edges of the two halves, this way you can even ad "keys" so they fit always perfectly. And to make the shell more durable you might want to use burlap dipped in plaster instead of the plaster bandages as plaster in them is rather soft and crumbly. But I'm glad the mold worked out!
@HanTyumi9Ай бұрын
I love that you managed to include the captured moments of joy from seeing the process work!
@graefxАй бұрын
Real old lore. I vividly remember that video. Also the topper house reminds me of Hagglethorn Hallows style. For the future with brush on, Crafsman had a video where they rig up a slow rotisserie to keep the silicate at an even layer. Few things more satisfying than revisiting an old project with new skills and being able to realize it fully.

Accomplishing things can get you really high. When I renovated the house of my deceased mother in law (we can live there now, and I am really bad at this kind of work), and it turned ok, for a week I felt like I was drunk. Everything was cool, and everyone seemed nice and I had not a problem in the world. So I get that feeling, brother. Finish your old projects, and ride that wave, baby!

Make sure you use non-sulphrated plasticine, as sulphur stops silicone from gelling and setting. Silicone in contact with sulphur remains liquid.

I've found your channel quite recently and have found it extremely entertaining and addictive but the only question I genuinely have is, how do uou have so many bits and minis for kit bashing? Ive genuiebly been inspired to do the same and try new things from your works but genuinely just dont have the same quantity of bits or even toys to make anything useful for me or my dnd campaign. Also, it's been an absolute god send to have finally found a rad and australian youtuber that vlogs/diaries his work for tabletop/art things. Thanks for all your work. I've been going through it all the videos from the very start.

Random question, but is "ignorance" (for lack of a better word" and feeling around in the dark part of your process/enjoyment? I often notice you saying you're not sure how something is supposed to be done, but that information is no more than a quick google or youtube search away? Like when you were doing the silicon and plaster mold making, there was literally a video put up yesterday by Xyla Foxlin that features that exact process where she makes a cast of her hand. I'm just genuinely curious about not just your process, but your motivation and goals. I will say your joy is contagious!
@MiscastАй бұрын
I have absorbed A LOT of information on hobby processes i've yet to use because I'm curious about them and don't have the need/means/interest to pursue them, years and years and years worth. So a lot of what I do is educated guess work, which usually leads to fine results but at best leads to discovery or innovation because I'm not just following someone else's work. A lot of techniques shared in model making are regurgitated over and over so by experimenting I am hoping for discovery when I encounter problems and I need to overcome them. I find a lot of joy in this way of working and have discovered a lot of helpful things I can share with my peers. Hope that helps explain things, thankyou for the kind words
@DavydAtkinsАй бұрын
@@Miscast That'd valid, I never thought about the aspect of discovery and improvisation. However, that's likely because for me hobby crafting is a means to an end rather than a process. I want the painted mini, the finished gaming board, the ready-to-use terrain. It's part of the reason I sub to your channel; to expose myself to a creator that focuses more on the journey
