Im also a low amount of mids guy. And I immediately liked how you put a eq at the end. Someone showed me to leave the mids around 5 on your amp and scoop them w EQ in the effects loop basically the idea is that in the amps preamp you want those mids cause they effect how the rest of the frequencies get boosted and make for a more dynamic and huge sound. Not sure if that works in the computer world , but seems like they would. I definitely suggest trying it it blew my mind how much it changed the sound.
@xPowerShotx5 жыл бұрын
Your on the right track there, I think. Still on my investigation for the EQ world. Got this from a friend about this, and its for the Katana. But I think this might be worth testing for sims to. I'll just pass the dialog :) "I know you have always insisted on adding a 5Khz high cut for a better tube tone and to remove some digital harshness. So my question is, do you do that for every patch you make? and if so would you recommend just adding this cut to the system global EQ section after the amp. Hi! I don't do it for every Patch. I never use the global EQ. Some tones like Fender, Marshall and Boutique Amps have a cut around 6Khz. They need to breed a bit more on the high end. What I do is check the position of the eq, amp in or out because it makes a huge difference. Then if there's too much fizziness I remove it with the slide eq around 16K or 8K."
@williamsundbaum66525 жыл бұрын
Really chill video, loved grabbing a snack and just watching through it all, you got a really natural live commentary. Only thing I wish was different (and this goes for most of your non-cover vids c;) is to not have the Labyrinth backing track playing in the background at all times when you're doing something. Was a bit distracting to hear that song in the background while trying to listen to the clean and ambient tones edit: grammar stuff

My how far this type of product has come. I can remember buying a didgitech multi effect pedal, maybe an early RP50 or so. Back then the number of LEDs on it were used as a selling point. Software was around that was just starting to try and offer what BIAS FX and similar stuff does but I never knew anyone who used it. Even recording artists and bands I knew would rather lug peddle boards the size of a car from gig to studio and back than even use my digitech or any "computer" to record. Now Nik and can sound like 10 different bands in less than 3 minutes with a few clicks of a mouse.

The final Ambient clean gave me so many Of Mice and Men's "The Calm" vibes in all the best ways. Also, I just want to appreciate that Delude Reissue they did. Adding those four songs defined Of Mice & Men as a band, imo. It had heavy, ambient, emotional, angry, all of it. In four songs. And they all flowed perfectly and all lyrically were the same story... It was absolutely fantastic.

Noticed he didn’t use the noise gate at the bottom of bias Fx. A lot of people don’t but I find that it cuts out a lot of noise and sometimes do not need an additional noise gate in my chain. Also, some of the metal amps cause the output to clip. If you turn it down, the signal becomes clearer and less broken up.
@ryzorzen5 жыл бұрын
So many more options this time around, that can sometimes be my downfall with over tinkering. However the more I mess around the easier it always gets with digital modelers, nothing will ever be as tedious as tone crafting on an old line 6 pod lol. The latency seems amazing! edit: A lot of people will go to download tones, and find that they sound terrible compared to the sound the creator got. This is where I think the guitar matching feature will shine, being able to match to the guitar the tone was crafted on should clear a lot of that up. "Why doesn't my single coil strat sound like a chunky emg solid body?" Well here ya go kids.
