Beautiful! I've always had an obsession to opal and its color shifting. I never knew I needed an opal arrowhead until now! Have a small collection of sentimental arrowheads. Wish I could find the ones I personally found as a child. Sadly they have been lost over the years and always remembered as "the one that got away" lol

I stumbled across this video and sat here mesmerized watching you make this pendant. I just wish I had the faintest idea of what you're talking about so I could fully appreciate you finding the perfect stone for the piece. Honestly, all of your rocks looked pretty much the same to me. But I can tell it takes a lot skill to make these, and the finished product looked amazing. Thank you for sharing this.

Stunning end result but I loved all 4 specimens as well. I’m blessed I’ve seen opal in a mine in Coober Pedy when I was 17. Been obsessed with the stunning stone ever since. Your humour absolutely makes these videos my friend. I chuckle all the way through them. Thanks for the laughs 👍🏽

Just discovered your channel. I have always loved opals, and the pendant you created is stunning! I can still remember a huge opal I tried on (in the 1970s) in New York City. It was an amazing experience to wear that piece for a few minutes. I think it was around $9,000 then. I'm sure it would be worth far more now. There is a magic in the color and "fire" in these stones. Thank you for sharing the process of selection of stones, and how to cut them. The preparation is far more time-consuming and challenging than most people would realize. Appreciate your humor too. I'm sure it's a challenge being an "opalholic." lol Best wishes for your continued success with opals, Dianna

You are so funny 😂 before finding yoyr channel, I didn't have much of an opinion on opal and if asked, I would've said it wasn't something I liked all that much. Now, not only do I like you but I also like opal. I've just started researching engagement rings this week to pop the question and lucky thing my girlfriend's favorite stone is opal so I'll be designing her an opal ring. Opal is my daughter’s birthstone. I have always loved Opal. I had a nice opal ring years ago and it shattered. I was so sad about that and never got another one. Some day... thank you for sharing! Your work is so beautiful...I'm stuck in bed with 3 ruptured...broken tail bone (3 places)...8 broken upper teeth...spider fractured upper and lower job...pinched off siatic nerve and ham string(left side) etc...I'm stuck in bed for at least another year....no jems for me .... but man is your opal and gold work ..... beautiful!

@@PulitzerOpal I have thought about trying my hand at it, as there are lots of big pieces of flint and chert, I think, laying around in these places I've found. I have actually found a half formed arrowhead, which is probably my favorite find...it looks like the soul working on the piece was suddenly distracted and just tossed it to attend to the matter at hand. Anyway, thanks for the reply! I appreciate your craft and have a definite interest...thank you! And those opal arrowheads...WOW!!!

I have found a spot in the woods surrounding the Wabash River, on a hillside, that's nothing but flint flakes and pieces. Of all colors. I have a bowl filled with it at home-it's very beautiful! I bet you would find it to be pretty interesting. Do you have any strictly flint knapping videos? If so I would really like to check it out and learn a bit more about this! I would find making one very satisfying!

Just watched this. Noticed during his timeline that I describe his work like that. He makes arrowheads, NO, He makes OPAL arrowheads. He found Matrix Opal, NO He found a way to look at Opal under ultraviolet light conditions. Wish I had mantis shrimp eyes so I could see the full extent of color in that Matrix Opal.
