Having forgotten about an important occasion that required a nice gift, I turned to OPAL to bail me out! It actually took a little bit longer than an hour!

At the risk of sounding mushy I would like to thank you for these shows that you make. Your channel in particular has gotten me and my little niece really excited about stones and minerals in general. My folks are a couple of old rock hounds and my interest in this has sparked excitement in them and has legitimately drawn us all closer. We go to club meetings together now and go on trips and things. Not sure you meant for that with your show but I thought you should know it has done some real good for me and my family. Thank you so much.

Pulitzer Opal That's fantastic, I would love to see the agate of the moment videos. It amazes me how beautiful these stones we have can be and I love to think of the processes that made these natural pieces of art. I love the instructional videos, I am going to try and cut my very first stone this next weekend and I am going to try and emulate the processes I have seen you do. Thank you for the best wishes to the family, my niece will especially love that, and thank you again for the great videos!!

The thing I appreciate most about your work is your desire to preserve the material. I understand the economics of saving material - Opal ain't cheap! But I see that your appreciation runs deeper than just monetary concern. Your authenticity is always refreshing and I wish you great things in life and in your work! Thank you for sharing your journey.

Thanks. The opal turned out far prettier than I thought it would given the rough. I bought equipment to cut opals and put it away while I worked folk time but now that I'm retired I want to use them. Before, many years ago, I cut opals purely by hand, on a plate with grits, and a little Dremel.

@@PulitzerOpal True. But in 20 years + of trying to find good opals I've only been lucky twice. Once I found an opal dealer in the Denver area who bought directly from miners. I bought a piece of Mintebi black at $125 an ounce. I got a $4,000 and a $2,000 out of it. The dealer could not believe that I had gotten those stones from the one that he sold me. The other one I found was at the Jem and mineral show in Denver. In the dinosaur area, a woman was selling clam fossils for $ 50 each. One of them was completely opalized. She didn't know what she had. Since then I haven't found anything of value.
