I really really like the idea here. The strategy was also good, with only the early game execution could be better. When releasing the released nation inherits techs, inflation, corruption and % of current gold based on the % of released development. This can be gamed. In theory it would mean one could feed Smolensk land, take a whole bunch of loans just prior to release, then release them with tens of thousands of gold. Both admin and mil should be ahead of time, with only diplo abysmally behind due to the annexing, since we don't need ideas as Lith., nor do we need to core stuff ourselves.

Wouldn't it also be possible to get a PU on Poland and then have Smolensk inherit that PU using the rebel exploit?

@@xryphon maybe the exploit doesn't work on PUs, I'm not that well versed in exploits, but even if it works in theory, it's not really practical: -you need Smolensk to be loyal to annex them (or you could concentrate dev over 100%?) -you need to PU Poland (not a big problem in most cases, still drains rescources) -you need Poland to have no supporter for independence (truce, getting them loyal is probably close to impractical) -you need Poland to have positive opinion, because the PU would break on monarch change I don't think it is impossible, but it's definitely a LOT of pain. Just conquering afterwards is probably easier.

@@xryphon tbh, I'm really not sure about this. Usually once you integrate another nation, the PU, unlike vassals, breaks free. Doesn't matter if you do it in the peace deal, by annexing vassal, or by annexing PU with another separate PU (e.g. if you annex Austria and Hungary is not usual PU, but integrated, it will break free). Maybe it works differently by integrating using rebels

One thing you could have done with inflation is that, there is a burgler privilage for reducing cost of reducing inflation, gives interest per annum. It could have helped a lot in this run

I doubt it will, Muscovy is actually easier. Lithuania or Poland might be good alternative, both get lots of PUs and ability to crush Muscovy early

​@@CoolBonobowell for some reason my smolensk run was way easier than muscovy i just called support for independence from great horde and sweden and crushed them, then i finished muscovy and at that moment game become easy the only thing i hate is that you can't make Siberian frontier with smolenskas ideas

Great video, but 1 small correction the +2 artillary shock is NOT +2 pips, stats and pips are different. Pips are a damage modifier, whereas stats (+shock/fire) are base damage increases. They are found to the right of combat ability in the millitary tab. Some techs will give stats and unit types, some just one. The reason tech 13 is so good for artillary is the stats AND the pips become significant

When you opened the screen that showed it, You had 2 cultures that had 20% or more not accepted. That would be hurting your income you should accept them to earn max income and lower unrest.

i kinda did this playthru already, although i didnt min max everything as much as you did. I want to discuss about how annoying sweden/denmark is... I think its highly unfair and ridiculous that Sweden can just declare independence whenever it likes even when im at war with them.. this is the second time this has happened to me.. i declare war on denmark... take all of swedish land and am finishing off denmark.. then sweden declares independence and suddenly all the provinces i sieged down are magically unsieged and im no longer at war with them... then i being annoyed decide to break truce and declare war on sweden to try to get the original land i wanted getting -5 stability... then magically denmark somehow gets a win on sweden and they take them back as a pu... and all the sieged provinces are yet again desieged and i cant even take provinces from 2 wars... ie both from sweden and denmark.. this seems like a totally dumb mechanic where the ai seemingly is cheating. i dont think a vassal or pu should be allowed to declare independence whilst in a defensive war where the attacker has already sieged down land..
