specifically flying formation with the valkyrie and the F-104 is cursed; the reason there's only one left today is because the other prototype had a starfighter crash into it during testing

@@smooneychad agree😂 theoretically what I made shouldn't have flown at all..but it took off like a bat out of hell,and maneuvered like one as well! Maybe we should be hired for Jet propulsion and Designing😂🤔🙏🏻

Hey, hinges suck but you can use engine plates or other sturdy construction parts to make them tougher. ( i mightve made the mistake of placing whiplash engines on my own, too much weight lol ) Also, the valk looks like a paper airplane when it somehow flies without its fuselage!

I'll have to try using engine plates haven't thought of that! I'll probably modify this one with whiplashes if I ever use it in TLW (it'll go WAY faster) And yes it goes for awesome bomber to paper airplane REAL fast lol

@@smooneychad I think jaguars are fine but they're a little crazy with the gimballing antics, they might look a little out of place when they're on full power dry ( I think? I'll have to see that out for myself since I don't remember very well ) since the entire nozzle closes in a little more than usual. The whiplash is a little more "immersive" but the larger speed margin is exaggerated, do watch out for their tendency to overheat on longer than average flights. yeah im nitpicking, sorry 😁

@@spazzey0 The reason I used them was simply because the whiplashes are turbo ramjets like the SR-71 used where as the Valkyrie used "regular" Afterburning turbojets (GE YJ93) the gimbling is a bit off-putting though I should have switched it off

This is all FANTASTIC! Loved the build and all the research! It is also amazingly maneuverable! Congratulations! What mod is it that you are using for the volumetric clouds? I think I tried once but I couldn't find a good one on CKAN, I heard there is one that I think was available for purchase on a Kickstarter, but I'm not sure about it.

The Valkyrie is not in the past tense. One of the two is still kicking, and can be seen at the National Museum of the USAF in dayton ohio, and let me tell you she is goddam gorgeous. Nothing quite like staring down the barrel of six jet engines each 4ft in diameter. Also formation flights are a bit cursed no kidding lol that's how one crashed!

Bath salt hobo concorde xD So was this based off of the first or second B70? From my vague understanding of the two planes, the second was much more advanced and better in almost every was due to modifications based off faults with #1, so thus were left with the worse of the two :p

It's supposed to be the second (AV-2 the one that crashed) since i intended it to be closer to an actual production model (for use in TLW series), but since the last one standing is AV-1 most of the photo references, measurements, and so on that I had were from AV-1 so any differences between the 2 prototypes are probably mixed in this one. So I guess we'll call it AV-1.5 lol

Ironically enough both the F-104s crashed after that clip... Yeah probably should have went with a different chase plane
