What a great restoration series, lots of headaches, hilarious moments and knowledge. It's a project that you'll never forget. Now with that brick out of the way, you can focus on your other projects now! I've been subscribed since the beginning of the project.

They might not be as extensive and shiny as this, but there are plenty!

“Stick your bits together” The car turned out amazing, unbelievable that it’s the same car from years ago. Sad to see the old garage go but proved to be a decent workspace for you to grow and learn with. Can’t wait to see more of the new space and the many projects that will call it home.

I am restoring a 1976 Mercedes 240d. It was last on the road in 2002 and was parked in a field long time ago. Rodents made their way in through rust holes and has been living there for years. After tons of hours spent restoring the interior, I got it looking mint. Still have some engine work to do as well as a lot of welding.

10:00 used to mount a kind of separation grille between the passenger compartment and trunk. For keeping dogs in the trunk or keeping cargo from flying forwards and hitting you in the back of the head during an accident. Called ''hundgaller'' or ''lastgaller'' in swedish. Really enjoy your videos and style of humor!

WOW! Memory flashbacks from the beautiful symphony of that TD and the look of the 740/760 series front grill and the dual American headlights. I wish I could saved my dad’s ‘84 760 GLE TD (manual, intercooled, IL6, with black leather interior. Those are such great cars. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

For your sanity sake, there was an optional "dog gate" to separate dogs to the hatch. In Australia im pretty sure every 7/9 had previsions for said barrier. Similar to a cop car but in the back! Also mid era 240s had the same light as the hatch light but as a centre dome light. Illegal to ship because they have a glass tube with mercury in it

21:30 ... Great video and you've got a new sub, love the humor. But, with best regards from Japan, maybe skip _that_ sound effect in the future. It's the chime that alerts us to an immediately impending earthquake. Gave me a proper jolt at 2am. 😅

Wow you made this 745 really nice! I’m about to convert my -90 740 GLE with B230f into D24tic this winter. Also going to insulate the firewall since these engines are really noisy. You should put some butyl mat on the wheel wells also. Since I can imagine those tires you have are quite noisy. Thank you for sharing your work.
Dash is bangin'! Not sure about that roof liner....

I've done about 3 of these roofliners and yours definitely looked all original, the stock glue is annoying. Did you also find out that there is some fiberglass material either in the foam or the paper board by scraping by hand? :p First time i was just trying to rub the foam off by hand and that was not a good idea.
@bakedbeansgarage116Ай бұрын
Ah, I REALLY should have mentioned that. I also learned that the hard way. There is definitely fiberglass in there.

It's so jarring to see a non-swede work on a Volvo and not have access to easy to find replacement parts, like the seals. We have websites here where you can buy it OEM new, I would assume as I could find for my 1994 855 2.5 in mere minutes.
@bakedbeansgarage116Ай бұрын
I could probably import stuff, but that gets expensive quickly. I like figuring out methods like what I did with the seals for when I'm eventually working on something where parts ABSOLUTELY don't exist anymore.
