Im pretty sure its to de-stress the metal which will prevent it from cracking or breaking later on

Hi, this process is called annealing, it allows you to work with the metal, as heated metal is easier to bend etc

Uhh after having a 24K chain and watching 24k gold videos. I just can't go lower than 24k that pure rich yellow color is beautiful.. although I found a nice 22K chain any opinions? (it is cheaper than the 24k chain I wanted)

I like 18 and 21 k too. I think 24 is too soft for jewellery, it looses shape with time. It's great for barres, though..😁

what is happening @ 11:29 - 11:37? What is that that is being torched onto the surface.. I'm so curious because 24K anneals at 200ºC (400ºF), and I am curious why you would heat a finished product unless it adds hardening or some other property. Please let me know!! I'm so curious!

Hi Austin, we weren't annealing it. we put our own mixture on it (the green liquid) and then heated it, this gives the soldering a better yellowish colour to blend in with the gold. i hope this helps. thanks
