I tried putting sodium lactate and my powdered sugar mixture in my lye water and once I added it to my oils with fragrance and mica powder, my stick blender said NO WAY HOZAY! I was so sad because the color scheme I had picked out was GORGEOUS! I'm still new to soap making but I had hoped to do an in the pot swirl for the first time. That definitely didn't happen because all of those colors seized quickly. I think I've learned that for me, fragrance oil needs to be the ultimate last thing after everything is stick blended. That way, I can just use a spatula to mix in the fragrance and then hopefully have more working time. I really want to make a honey and oat soap but I'm paranoid now to even attempt it. LOL!!! Your soaps always look gorgeous! I bet this one would be lovely with a honey FO and bubble wrap on top of them. (Forgive my dreamy imagination. I have so many ideas as a newbie. LOL!)

Got my package from you this afternoon. I take my baths in the evening so this came at the right time. I started using the triple butter bar tonight. Girl! Let me just say the lather was spot on, the scent is amazing, not too heavy, not too light. The moisture is fantastic, I didn’t have to use lotion this evening, lucky for us we have soft water but this bar just made my skin feel so soft. Excellent job and even tho I make soap too I will be purchasing more from you in the future!

I just love the idea of a buttery soap, during covid my family (elderly) is asking for one. What would your idea be for % of oils and butters? I'm only 1.5 months in making soap. thanks

Hi, could you please tell me what the mulberry silk does and also the role of kaolin clay and colloidal oats? Thank you for the video , I will be trying soap making for the first time :)
@EllenRuthSoap

The silk literally gives a silky feel to the lather, and the clay and oats also give a really nice feel to the finished bar and lather.

hi, im having trouble choosing the quantity when mixing powders or clays to my mix 😞 Do you have a guide? or you add them by experience? How you do when want more the one powder ?

Hey 😁 I use Mango butter and Shea butter in my soaps but I find they come to trace really quickly and get thick fast. Do you think this could be due to temperature?
@EllenRuthSoap
@EllenRuthSoap 3 жыл бұрын
That's a good question. I like to soap at about 80 degrees, and not "over blend" the batter. You could try a test batch with a bit less hard oils to liquid oils ratio...
