18 oz - 510g Coconut oil
7 oz - 198g Cocoa butter
2 oz - 57g Castor oil
15 oz - 425g Olive oil
15 oz - 425g Rice Bran oil
8.1 oz - 230g Sodium Hydroxide
17 oz - 482g Water

32% Coconut oil
12% Cocoa butter
4% Castor oil
26% Olive oil
26% Rice Bran oil

Great vid! I love how there wasnt any discoloration! I have been buying from BA for over 13 years now, mostly for their eo's. I also hit their clearance items too! Def a great company to buy from. If you don't have rice bran oil you can look up the saponification value to exchange it for another oil. You must run it through a soap calculator for the proper amounts of lye and water. I have one printed. Just saying

Typically when there is a dark rim, it means your soap is starting to discolor, usually due to the fragrance.

Thank you for sharing all your great tips. I recently made 6.25 pounds of soap and I thought I reached trace and when I went to unmold, the soap looked like and felt like gel and broke apart and some oil began to ooze out 😣 this has never happened before. Would you suggest rebatching in slow cooker?

I would suggest doing a pH test to double check the lye situation, and if that’s okay then I would rebatch.

So here’s the thing I was doubling on a recipe and I’m pretty sure I made a mistake and did not double on the lye measurement so therefore I know now that I’m missing exactly half the lye for this soap amount 😣 what can I do?

If you change an oil in CP soap recipe, you’ll need to run the numbers thru a soap calc to make sure the lye ratio is correct. And for preservative, there are several to choose from. Bramble Berry has some good articles on them.
