Light Sienna pigment is one of my favorites as well. Love the tone.

Like you I am also critical of the things I do in the hobby. Sometimes my brain just doesn't except what it's seeing and I keep trying until I create something that feels right. A good example is a Bretonnian archer I did as a "how far I have come" project. I wanted him to be in a grassy field. Just a couple of tufts looked strange so I went all out and created a base with like 90% grass. Traditionally we glue the mini down first and add the tufts after, but then it looks like the archer is standing on bare soil instead of the grass, which would be extra strange since there is nothing but grass around him. So I made the grassy base first, drilled holes trough the base, pulled on the pins to glue him snuckly to the base so he would not be floating over the grass like a weightless elf 😅... First time I ever had a mini actually standing on grass like we would if we walked on a field ourselves.

Absolutely superb advice for basing - I'm working on a Mordian Iron Guard force at the moment and this looks like the BEST way to base them! Will be subscribing for sure!

Really nice bases, I like to add dry sticks and plants to look like dead greenery and weeds growing in the rubble.

i love it, really good stuff, ive taken a number of tips from this. im working on some imp guard myself atm along with some tyranids who are gonna have a matching base scheme, same deal, city, rubble, im still in the testing phase too. i actually quite like the odd tuft here and there, you can get some nice brown/green/tan type ones that look a lot less lush and bright green, more of a water starved maybe dead tuft. plants can grow quite quick, its just another little dimension in there.

A great and cheap alternative to plastic rods for ammo casings are spaghettis! Just paint a bunch of dry noodles brass or gold and then cut them in a bunch, takes almost no effort to get the size right and you end up with a heap of ammo

Could anyone please direct me to the bricks used in this? I went to the site where he got all of his basing materials from but I'm not seeing those bricks anywhere.
