I know the chance of you seeing this isn’t high, as it was put out 5 years ago, but I was thinking as you realized him a boy, and his name William, that you couldn’t help but talk to him. He becomes a little doll at this point and what little girl doesn’t talk to her babydoll. This new trend of people being afraid of dolls is quite foreign to me as my thought is, how could anyone be afraid of a baby? Anyhow, it just shows my age I guess. I played with dolls as a child and loved them as my baby. It’s the beginning of maternal feelings for another being, which is quite normal, I think. Anyhow, William is beautiful so far and I’m only 35 minutes in to the video. Thank you for showing us your process and taking us along on his journey. ✌🏻🤍
@CarolynDoughtyDolls Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much, and this fear of dolls I agree is really interesting, if you go to wikipaedia there is a thing called 'uncanny valley' where people are repulsed by things that are too lifelike and I believe this explains some peoples revulsion of likelike dolls - but I also think that movie makers are also partly to blame with their films such as Chucky and I believe there is a recent one with a doll who comes to life and is a bit of a horror thing lol. Who knows, but I am pretty sure mine would only come to life to do nice things :)

Greetings from Florida, USA!! Carolyn I am in awe of your work! Your babies are beautiful, and the work and love you put into them is amazing! And now I am addicted!! I have binge-watched all of your videos, and I’m so excited to get started, though I don’t know about this sculpting thing 🤣🤣🤣-I’m not very crafty. But I have always loved babies, and spent 16 yrs working as a labor and delivery/postpartum nurse 😊. May I ask where you get your glass eyeballs?? And can you recommend paints/products equal to SAM that I might find in the US? I’m having trouble finding them here. Again-thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos and share your love of the babies!! I also want to send my condolences to you and your country on the passing of the Queen. Hi Carolyn, love your channel! Thank you for your kindness in sharing and teaching your beautiful craft. I have a question…. Between 33:29 and 33:30 your tea alarm is going off and you stop the video. Upon return significant progress had been made. I’ve watched several hours of your videos 🤗🤩❤️ and I’m confused about finishing the lower eyes, the bags under eyes, the brow, and the mouth as those areas appear to me to have been omitted from the video. My apologies in advance if I’ve missed it as I don’t want to bother you with redundancy. Much appreciation and thanks to you from Florida. ❤️

Heyyy lovely lady.. it’s me again lol just wandering, do you do the eyes in the clay then then bake it with the eyes? Or do you take the eyes out before baking?? I’m confused 🤷🏽♀️ reason I’m asking I only got 2/3 pairs or eyes and just wandering when you bake they are basically going to waste right? Cause I want it for my silicon not clay sculpture?? Please if you can understand this crazy question lol 😂 I would appreciate it 💖💖 thank you again xxx
@CarolynDoughtyDolls4 жыл бұрын
Hi Artemis, no if you use eyes in the clay sculpt you bake it with the eyes in and then mould it, when the sculpt comes out of the mould you can then break the head and take the eyes out if you want to re-use them xx

Hello, Carolyn!! First of all, thank you for sharing, you inspire me to start making sculptures... I wanted to ask you about the brand or kind of eyeballs you use for your dolls. I've seen acrylic and glass, round and oval, I suppose you leave the eyes in the sculpture when you bake it. If so, nothing happens to them? Also, I'd like to know the eyeball size you recommend. Thank you!

Did you have to do a design patent on your sculptures If you design your own baby sculpture/mould
@tiner84144 жыл бұрын
Faylene Huckett Art is copyright protected as a standard, just as music. So no patent needed. But lets say she created a new way of creating the babies, like a new material or something, then THAT would need to be patented.

Hi I have a question what the difference from the Cured Ecoflex™ 00-20 and Cured Ecoflex™ 00-30
@CarolynDoughtyDolls4 жыл бұрын
It’s purely a difference in softness, silicone rubbers are measured on the Shore Hardness scale, there are two scales A and very soft 00. Ecoflex are on the 00 scale and the lower the number the softer the silicone when cured.
