I just discovered your channel and watched this fine crankbait video. Unlike many other luremakers, you slightly speed up the film in several places without going to full-on "fast-forward." This way, we can see exactly what you're doing, and I appreciate that. I also like your little wooden "pencil jig," which is perfect for marking perfect longitudinal lines on lure bodies. What didn't I think of that? I see that you have only posted two videos, and I REALLY hope that you'll do more. Thanks so much for sharing your work.

How much would that lure be worth if you were to sell it? BTW what ever its worth theres no way I'd use it and risk losing it. What beautiful craftsmanship.

Cool Lure, quick epoxy questions. As far as i can Tell you use 3 different epoxys. One for sealing, one for glueing the lip in , and one for clear coat. Could you elaborate on why you do this, and which ones you use? Appreciate it.
@thatsmallrockshop3 жыл бұрын
The one for sealing the wood is watery so it actually penitrates the wood before it dries. The other epoxy is a fast cure epoxy. So it can be sanded and evend out quicker and the final epoxy to seal the paint would be a longer cure self leveling epoxy to ensure the whole lure is coated evenly as it dries.

Sir... great job! It’s there a rule of thumb when it comes to bill size to lure body length and over all size?
@toddfullerton39304 жыл бұрын
Good question. I always go by the length and angle of bill. Most deep divers have a long bill I have always thought. Angle of bill matters also. Just guessing. I'm with you. Good question.

@anovozhilov5 жыл бұрын
@kcamtg5 жыл бұрын

Im sorry b4 but this lure good for bait snakehead or no?
@kcamtg4 жыл бұрын
Well, I have very limited experience with snakeheads for now. And it is all about topwater lures: plugs, spooks, buzzbaits and frogs. Snakeheads stay close to the surface much of the spring and summer, so frogs are an ideal choice.

Do the twisted wire eyelets seriously hold up to reeling in a fish? I thought theyd have to be a single piece from front leader to back and bottom hooks
@kcamtg4 жыл бұрын
I did not loss any fish due to the failure of the twisted wire eyelet. Glued twisted wire eyelets work well and (in contrast to closed screws) can be adapted to any length easily
@zzz7zzz94 жыл бұрын
I don't see how a fish could pull one out. Reel's have drags for a reason, play the fish. Tests have been done on these eyes and the strength of them is plenty high.
