When I was a kid, my parents never really did the whole Santa thing. I would see them bring the presents over on Christmas, they weren't hiding it. I had a vague idea of Santa but I never really thought of him at all. One Christmas my cousins (who were much older) came from the US to visit. They told me all about Santa and were surprised I've never written a letter to him. My cousin helped me write one (I didn't know how to write yet) and the letter sounded like this letter. This made me existential. Gremlins is literally the movie that made me first question Santa. The older kids on the school bus told me he wasn’t real but I explained to them that he doesn’t come by there house because they are mean. Hollywood destroyed my childhood. P.S. Gremlins is the best Christmas movie ever, minus the Santa isn’t real part.

That's the best part of that movie. In 5th grade my classmates hit me with a wooden cross on a necklace and told me I would burn in eternal hellflame for not worshipping Santa. I repeat; this was in 5th grade. Screw Santa and all of the people who perpetuate his cult of child-zealots.
