you should be checking cooling times using a full cooler - cooling an empty cooler is not a valid test
@MakingStuff6 ай бұрын
The first test had a 12 pack of Mtn. Dew, the second test had bottled water in the cooler.

@@MakingStuff good to know - I did not catch you saying that in the video altho, I still kinda find it hard to believe that the liquid in the container would chill down that fast - did you open a can and do a temp test on the liquid inside ? My instinct tells me that the aluminum can probably chilled quickly but the liquid inside did not - call it years of experience dumping bags of ice on cans of liquid beverages - orange whip anyone ???

I converted one of my chargers into a power source for overnight camp running or power outage. It's nice to have a bed fridge when home and not dealing with the price and hassle of ice when camping or tailgating. I've got an Alpicool, has been plugged in and running for 4 years.

That battery last like 5 min in my blower or drill. So I'd say that's pretty good

Top tip, in applications like this the fact that HF Hercules 20v batteries are nearly the same slide configuration as the DeWalt, you should be able to use much more economical HF batteries. But YMMV

I use the Bauer 20V being they were, and I believe last I checked still, the better priced option. Interesting hack I finally got around to making a video regarding, is the ML18DL or MIL18DL adapters for DeWalt 20V tools that use M18 batteries can be cut to make the Bauer 20V batteries fit and function. I've not tested with the Hercules 20V batteries yet. Price point has not compelled me.

I just tried to put a Hercules battery on the cooler adapter and it will not fit. It's a shame these batteries are so close but yet so far away. Thanks for watching!

Be aware that Dewalt batteries don't have any internal low voltage protection, so make sure you don't run them all the way down.
@MakingStuff6 ай бұрын
Good point. The cooler has built in protection. I have used it several times now with the batteries and it always stops using the battery before it gets close to damage point. I can even put the battery in my drill and continue to use it long after the cooler has determined the battery is dead.

No, I would like to take it on the jet boat but it wouldn't last long before it got soaked.

Pretty cool, but that cooler size is hilariously useless. It's only useful for a single person for a few days. Not good enough.

@@MakingStuff and thanks for sharing your videos with us. I'm sure someone or multiple someones out there benefit from the reviews. I don't mind reviews, but just don't stop making stuff. That's the best part.

Yeah the Maiden Voyage was the last video posted on the boat. I'm actually taking it for a rip tomorrow. Hopefully I'll get enough footage for a video. The only thing left to do is get it vinyl wrapped and then just have fun with it.
