Here's my thoughts on the Makita KP0800K Corded Planer

Thanks! You're right - at the time I shot the video, I hadn't used the planer enough to warrant a knife change. When I do get around to it, I'll try to document the process.

thanks! i gave away my harbor freight which was ok for my rough work, and now i find i have to replace the thresholds in my old house with some kind of hardwood, preferably. i tried to find a cheap one, but they all have those injector type blades--no thanks.. opted for this model you're showing--hop i find other uses for it.....

Greg Walker Dead right ,the good thing about these makitas and also their battery owns is you can use the heavy blades rather than those sliver ones.

It looks exactly the same as Makita N1900B I purchased in the prehistoric times...

Wow, I guess Makita lives by the mantra "if it ain't broke, don't fix it!" I looked at the N1900B, and the body seems to be almost the same, with the exception of the upgrade to a more powerful motor from 4A to 6.5A.

I'm glad they kept the form factor the same ,I have 3 N1900b planers ,I haven't found anything better.

Are you outside of North America? Sometimes different geographical locations include different base accessories for some reason. Either that, or maybe they decided to include it, which would be great!

Up to 3/32" each pass. You can adjust it down to almost nothing each pass too.

Does your planer's front shoe move left to right? I just bought this same planer and the shoes were not aligned. I can easily move it with my hands. Is this normal! Would it affect the cut/planning?

No, my planer has a rock solid front shoe. I'm guessing you got a defective unit and would recommend exchanging it while it's still in its return period.

That's the max width it can plane in one pass - 3.25 inches.

TTFN I have no idea what you two are talking about. Marshal Space Flight Center or maybe Multiple Slerosis Functional Composite instrument?
