This is a great saw. I have it for more than a year now. And it runs with the original blade still. I'll have it replaced soon. But very impressed with this. You could of had better results by adjusting the blade depth to the material thickness. Thus not putting to much pressure on the motor.

Iv had the larger 110v Makita saw 4131 with a 185mm blade and Iv had it for 4years Iv had mixed views on this? First it’s incredible how it can cut 10mm plate easy but blades do wear out rather quickly!! And blades are expensive. I found in the end it had problems and wouldn’t cut and kept damaging blades Iv now bought the makita DCS553ZJ so will see how good this is

Would have thought the rust might have dulled the blade.I would have quickly ground it off.But thanks for posting , sold me.Think I'll get one :)

Since I got this saw, my angle grinder and reciprocating saw are not getting used as much. I wish Makita made a base compatible with their track saw. I heard placing cutting oil along the length of cut adds to blade life. Money well spent.

Yes it can. Just about any 150mm wood blade with a 20mm centre. You can also add a vacuum attachment for wood, which of-course you wouldn't use for metal due to sparks.

Any circular saw can cut it but blade doesnt last long and it is expensive.

With this type of saw you can't see what you cut.... Id you have to cut a tube 3 4 cm
