With all the different brands you repair, do you feel like most tools are the same with different logos and marketing or is there a brand you've found to be more durable than others. I have mostly Makita and Milwaukee myself.

no all the brands are all made and designed differently, no parts from 1 will fit another. i find the best brands at the minute to be hilti (but very expensive), makita (best all round) and dewalt (better price but see more in for repair). Milwaulkee i would not rate very highly at all. over priced for the low end quality parts they use, they are powerful and fast, but they also dont last.

Exactly what I've have found hope to upgrade to Hilti later on for work

My father had a lifetime as a commercial electrician. He'd swear by Hilti tools. Other guys always asked to use them when their tools wouldn't cut it. (Specifically the rotary hammer drills)

@@deandohertygreaser The problem is that Hilti doesn’t have as many varieties as other brands, impact drivers are rare in Hilti

There was a batch of makita’s that had gears failing, makita service told me they had a bunch get the bad gears. Mine stripped almost off the hop, but has been strong since repair. Took them less than a week to have it back to me.

I tried to take apart a Porter Cable hammer drill once. Ball bearings everywhere! In the end, I threw it in the trash, lol. It had a good life

I have a Milwaukee m12 stubby impact , the led light no longer works. Any idea what happened ? Maybe loose or fried? Is it a easy replacement?

Tools have part schematics you can individually order for repairs. Most good ones anyway.
