That Makita looks good! I have seen several videos and people seem to like them. Wish I had some need for it, maybe need to do more hardcore gardening 😂

I want to see you do this while riding a Onewheel. Then you can speed up or slow down the RPM depending on which direction you go.

Have you seen what louis rossmann had to say about onewheel?
@toolscientist10 ай бұрын
@riba2233 no, I know nothing about onewheels apart from what they look like. I'm guessing unrepairable e-waste destined for the ocean?

@@toolscientist much worse than that, blocking repairs by having a code that destroys the bms as soon as you unplug anything, and suing the company that made a replacement to the ground, all in the name of security, but at the same time having a glitch that can launch the board into unsuspecting pedestrians and melting charging port. Also parent trolling and blocking any kind of competition.

The AEG came with that auger… the one it can barely turn? 😂 Maybe they should have chosen a smaller one

Where do you get your augers?

I wonder if AEG will end up making a 58V auger.. now that could give the makita a run for it's money

Have you had a chance to check out the new Hikoki angle drill , would that be similar to the Makita?
@fredio549 ай бұрын
I will engineer a similar handle to the makita for my new dcd470 dewalt drill with very similar specs and get some augers to try out 200, 250, 300, maybe. Beast of a tool, should easily do this job.

Interesting, aeg has slightly more power available from batteries but makita still beats it easily :) Can wait to see more comparisons like this, maybe a track saw shootout? 😁
@toolscientist10 ай бұрын
Could just be due to RPM. In different soil that favours slower RPM, the AEG might win. Could also be that AEG batteries have more resistance, especially as they're in series so it doubles. Apparently AEG has internal cutoff mosfets, and I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be using high-end 0.45mOhm ones.

@@toolscientist possible yeah, but makita looks better efficiency wise :)

Makita Auger unit, i have had 3 blow up in smoke. not sure why? maybe makit has fixed the issue. hope so.

How, with a torque limiter, did you manage to do that? Remind me to never lend you any tools.
@markt902810 ай бұрын
+1 Makita repaired it. I was using it to power a boat trailer winch. Pulling a car up a trailer. Smoked before the torque limiter kicked in.

Can you make a video on : using angel grinder with earth auger?
@BuildsStuff10 ай бұрын
No, because I'm not insane. The RPMs are way too high, the torque isn't good enough, it'd be too hard to hold, do you want me to go on?

Makita can be used for other things than an auger. Its still just an angle drill.
@BuildsStuff10 ай бұрын
Yes, it's a drill... not a winch. Winches run way to slow for a drill like this. It would overheat so fast.

@@BuildsStuffno my buddy's all use them for the GRCS tree winch..it's a capstan winch .also rope access guys use makita for it's low gearing..my question is do you think it will be worth getting the auger for landscaping jobs ..ocasional use

still think for the price you cant beat petrol. there are petrol augers out there that come with 3 auger bits, an auger extention saftey gear for only £180. i have used them and they are good. the toll pays for its self over a copple of jobs and never had an isue with it spinnig out of controle as auger only spins when you pull the throttle
