A trick for keeping the motor clean - I also add polyfil inside that white cage - loosely, but it traps anything including fine particulates that get past the filter and protects the motor. just make sure that grey sponge is in there too, so the motor doesnt suck up polyfil.

Mine cracked around the nozzle after only 2 months, about 2 hours worth of use. (Purchased 2024) Unlike yours, the cracks in mine are a serious issue as it will fall to bits if I touch the cracked pieces. It astounds me that Makita are still selling these with a known issue, so easily addressed by using a better choice of plastic, and making the end of the nozzle 90° instead of the 45° for the sake of aesthetics. Glad to hear that yours has not crumbled....yet.

It is nice to see a long term update. It would be even nicer if we could see how it performs on furnitures such as sofas, armchairs etc. Even a comment is enough:) Because I have 40v tools with batteries and chargers. So I am curious if I should buy this. My wife asked for a Dyson immediately after this subject is on:) We have no carpets so I think this is a better option if it is good at sofas.

Hey, nice vid! Do you think it`s worth getting those extra accessories such as those brushes? I`ve seen two types of them, but don`t know the actual use of it, what do you think? Thanks!

Does the cyclone attachment make the Vacuum a little longer? I just bought a used one and so far I love it. The dust bin is cracked and a piece is missing but still holds the attachments though. Its just a little short though. Thanks for your video.

it makes the vacuum about 6-7 inches longer

Have you tried more powerful brussless makita 18v vacuums? Nice review, finally with its everyday use. By the way, how many vacuums do you have?

Which model do you have? How does it perform on carpets? I read some reviews that suggest its best on hard surfaces.

they work well on short pile carpet but are basically useless on thick carpet unless you get one of those vacuum powered roller heads for it.
