Full review and comparison of the legendary Makita XST01 OIL IMPULSE 3 SPEED DRIVER. I put this driver to work in a very tight work area to see if it was truly as quiet as advertised. This impact far exceeded the already high expectations I had for it going into real world use and shop testing.

Hopefully they will make an update soon, and a 40v version with a ring light.

Wow, I'm a fan, thanks for watching my video! I'm kinda geeking out over this. Lol. Yeah, an update or even better, a XGT!

Was thinking about getting the oil impulse and was looking for comparisons with other Makita impacts. I really want one now but holding it for an updated version

Yeah i've got my fingers crossed for an XGT model, nothing found in the patents by anyone, so it won't be anytime soon. With Dewalt releasing their first similar and Milwaukee rumours of an updated surge Makita better get on it.

I used Makita tools and they are amazing. I want it so bad! Im already invested in dewalt and milwaukee m12 tools, but when Makita update this hydraulic impact driver I am jumping on it! More power and add that beautiful halo light!

Awesome to hear! Let me know what you think of it! I have more Milwaukee and Dewalt than Makita, only because it's more easily available and at the time Makita still seems to be playing catch up or focusing more on XGT here in the US. They were my first 'big boy brand' when I upgraded from what I was using when I first started. It'll take a lot from another brand to take Makita away as my favorite impact/drill drivers.

@ 10:35 Yeah, that’s an older style on the handle, circa 2016 or so, ‘Tools AndStuff’ would know best? And I’m thinking that rubber over mold tends to get ‘hard’ and lose its resiliency over time? Thanks for showing how it does with “ordinary” size fasteners! Nothing wrong with pushing the tool on big stuff, but some guys never show the mundane every day stuff that most people will encounter. 👍

Yeah i'm shocked Tools and Stuff watched my video, was def geeking out a bit. Lol. I def don't claim to know everything, I use these tools on real jobs, not garage/basement testing set ups only, and give my opinion and findings. I try not to be biased and my opinions differ from others, I mean we all don't like the same things right? SERIOUSLY appreciate the comments and support.

ProToolsApproved !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 👍💪🇺🇸. ( Exponentially! ) Someone been drinkin’ too much coffee? Swinging them tools around and having trouble driving the screws, @ 01:49 ? Just messin Bro! 😃 Good to see You putting out some new Content! While I have not had the opportunity to try this one out, I can only assume it has the usual smoothness and great ergos and comfort that goes with being a Makita! I’m sure it is better than my M18 Surge, but You’d have a fight on yer hands trying to take my M18 Surge away! 😂 Makita seems to not be promoting this much, and they seem to be slipping on their market share, and mainly concentrating on their XGT line? I still love TEAL MAK, but the love has soured over last few years. 😔 Stay safe and remember us Vets and those who gave their lives for the U.S.A. 🇺🇸 👍✌

Lol too many red bulls. Coffee tastes like burnt oil to me. Ha ha ha ha. Yeah i'm hoping to see an XGT oil impulse driver as well, but the LXT line is so important to them i'm sure it'll never fade

I wouldn’t trade my m12 surge for any other impact period. Since getting it I don’t even take my m18 fuel impact to work anymore.

I love this. Man I hear ya! When I got my M12 Surge it was all I used for the longest time, heck, until this Makita it's almost all I use whenever a client is home. We're used to impact driver noise, most people aren't, it can be annoying to many people. My clients always appreciate the lower noise, esp when kids are home or i'm working while they're anywhere in the house. Now the M12 Surge and this Makita are going to fight for trigger time. Lol!

I wish I could barrow one to try. If it would work on these screws I been given. My impact’s are killing them they flex twist do a little everything. The only way they don’t get crazy is in gear 1 then it want halfway drive them. Hate Philips screws the worst I have ever had to use, but that is what I was given to use on the job.

Are they stainless steel? I had a recent job that required all stainless hardware and was having the same issue. They were very soft and snapping all the heads off. Switched to a drill instead of an impact to set them. The constant torque was easier on them vs the harder impact hits. If that's not an option try pre drilling the holes if they don't exist, or pre drill them out a tad larger if they already exist.
