This is a 7.9 amp, 2000-4000 RPM 4" arbored machine, that takes a variety of screw in heads from polishers to hole boring heads. It has three holes in the head that evenly distribute water and we use Husqvarna's portable water source to supply water that is a very easy, nice system for small jobs.

I love this wet polisher, Ive had mine now for about five years and I use it every day, the only repairs I've made is replacing the brushes witch I do about every three mouths but I do use it about four to five hours a day polishing petrified wood. My only complaint is when you buy your Milita wet polisher it only comes with the female end half of the water input quick connect and it is very hard finding the male end. I've used many different brands of wet grinders and found that this by hands down is the best on the market today.

I hear you on the water input and output problem. Silly to buy a machine then have to find the parts to hook up a standard hose (see below), but the machine is so good I still support it. It crossed my mind that internationally, all garden hoses are not the same (English vs. Metric) might be the reason for the problem?

Excellent, to the point demo which comes in very handy for me. 1. Is the quick connect to hose a separate purchase? 2. Which brand of diamond disks did you buy, or were they included? 3. Amazing you can use this for boring holes, can you also use as a wet tile saw with the right diamond cutting blade? I need to polish fire damaged marble tables. Some pros suggested dry polishing with diamond disks or sandpaper. I think wet polishing is better. Any thoughts?

Quick connect was separate, see lower comments, no particular brand on the diamond polishing as the kits are all around $50 or so bucks for a bunch of wet dry pads (not included), y. Me, I like wet because the water keeps the dust down, removes the material that is powder, runs cool and pads last longer, but, water makes a mess unless your prepared for it. Tape and a tarp fix most problems. Be curious if an expert has a reason why they prefer dry?

He said that dry polishing was much cheaper than wet polishing. I have not tried either method, but intuitively felt wet polishing for marble would give a finer result, with less dust. I don't mind the mess. Dry powder makes a bigger mess in your lungs. He also said to use acidic powders. Do you use a polishing cream to get that high gloss shine? Any sealants? My only hesitancy was the initial cost of wet grinder. Its over $300 which is pricey. Thanks for your good tips!!

Robert, Where did you get that D-Handle you are using on your PW5001C? Is that a Makita part or is it from a different machine that happened to fit it?? Please advise ASAP!

David, I completely forgot about that. When I bought the machine I wasn't happy with the lack of D handle and the sales guy who I know well, opened another model of Makita box and gave me the D handle.... sorry should have said that. I think he may have taken it off a grinder if that helps however I also remember him saying that the screw in mounts on the Makita are darn near universal...

Nice. Can the guard be removed to attach a 7 inch diamond grinder . Also, can I attach a garden hose to the water inlet?

Slap Stick don't think housing is interchangeable with 7" as this unit is a 4" grinder. As to quick connect: the quick connect to hook to a garden hose is sold separately but can be found almost anywhere now .. you can find them in the lawn and garden section of almost any hardware store or on amazon. www.amazon.com/Gardena-36004-Garden-Connector-Starter/dp/B00004SDY5/ref=pd_sim_lg_5?ie=UTF8&refRID=0JNABVZ28EK4V3ZS1HM2

Robert Rhodes Thats good to know about the hose adapter. As for the 7" diamond grinder, what I meant was a 7" diamond cup WHEEL that screws on a 3/8" spindle. I'm assuming this is a 3/8"?? I know the protector will no longer fit, but if its a 3/8" spindle; I'm hoping the 7" cup wheel should go on without any interference assuming the guard is removeable. The cup wheel I have has works safely up to 7000RPM. This device works well below that RPM, so why not? I did contact the wheel manufacturer and they recommended against it as well, but for light grinding whats the harm?

Slap Stick I believe this has a 5/8 spindle, not a 3/8. This machine runs 2-4000 rpm so your good on that level.

I believe they are the same as these: nice wet/dry pads. Using water makes them last longer in my opinion.www.amazon.com/Diamond-Polishing-Complete-Densifier-Concrete/dp/B00XT8HH0Q

Robert Rhodes Hi Robert. Yeah they look like the polishing pads. I'm looking for the metal diamond cup wheel they use in the video as I've got to bullnose some concrete and it'll eat up the polishing pads if I don't shape it with a diamond cup first. That cup looks great and flat, I just don't know who makes them 🤔
