Hey Pouse. You should have hooked it up to my dust extractor at the same time to give ultimate performance. You just don't see any dust when you are finished! Give that a review for the guys sometime! For the sake of the guy who questioned how new it is. Had mine a year. Cannot believe how good it is. Just be aware that is goes through the sanding disks quite quickly. Have a great week. Hopefully when these whole Covid restrictions are lifted I can see that loft in person! FAB.

Suppose I used it with a felt pad for glass polishing (with a cerium oxide slurry). I wouldn't be using a pad with holes; would that pose a problem?

I don't think it would, but the extraction system won't work as it relies on the holes to suck them into the bag. Hope that helps and thanks for watching.

Thanks for the useful video which would help me a lot through my up cycling process , can I ask when I sand a table do I have to move it up and down or in circular motion and want as when I use it doesn’t seem to be sanding much

Ive just purchased one of these. I havent tried it out properly as yet but the disc seems to stop spining with the slightest pressure. Is this normal?

I bought one about two months ago. I tried using it last week and it didn't spin or it spun with no power. Checking other reviews comments and several others had the same problem. I wonder if there is a loose wire. Hopefully I can find my receipt.

I’ve had mine a few weeks, great at the actual sanding but mine is awful for dust, I use the right pads and fit them correctly but by the end of using it for 10 minutes the whole room is dusty, literally can’t think what I could be doing wrong

Mines pretty good but not perfect, it will create dust. The other thing is to attach a hoover to the extraction pipe? Best of luck with it. Thanks for the feedback.

@@POUSEaroundtheHOUSE mate I had my guy sanding the walls in a medium size room with it two days ago, and you literally couldn’t see your hand in front of your face. I did try attaching a hoover to it but it didn’t fit correctly. Will look into some sort of attachment though

I just bought one of these from eBay and like the other reviews,the Sander seems very weak even with a fully charged battery,I thought mine was faulty but apparently this is normal,I expected a fast fully rotating powerful orbital sander experience but obviously not this model,if your thinking of getting one..don't buy this..maybe corded will be better..I'm disappointed but the rest of Makita tools are great 😅

My makita orbital sander seems very under powered, it’s new but I only have a 3aH battery for it, do you think that may be my problem?

With any cordless tools. The AmpHour of the battery can make a big difference. Definitely worth investing inta 5aH LXT battery

What’s wrong with reviewing something after a few days. He’s discussing specs, ergonomics and his opinion. Also he owns allot of makita kit so is likely comfortable that it’s built well and will last. I’ve got 10ish makita 18v tools and never had a failure.

I had it for about 6 months prior to doing the video but and have used it for the odd job. Then used it to do a load of stuff in the loft including the hip rafters. Thought they'd be a good for the video. You can never really comment on true reliability unless you review years later by which time it'll prob be discontinued with a new model out. As Joe said going on my experience of Makita tools my others have never broken. Drill and impact driver are 7 years old and still going strong. Thanks for watching.

POUSE around the HOUSE I have had a corded Bosch random orbital sander for past 4 years. I recently borrowed one of these from a mate as I was condsidering getting one. I was very very impressed with the dust collection and speed on this model. Like you highlighted on this video. My Bosch is garbage in comparison, sands slower and spews dust everywhere.
