I have learned from watching these that the sandwiches that require the most work are often the best.

"Sorry tunisia" it's ok lmao we're not italians 😂 For the msemmen i have actually never seen it done with butter and rather with olive oil on each folded layer, and there's 4 to 6 layers from what i'm used to(think croissant for the fluffy result) all in all looks great hope u enjoyed it.

I was wondering what happened to this channel! Dang YT was not suggesting it anymore and somehow, watching food history videos I thought of it and know I was subscribed. Glad to find it again, it's raining where I am and off to binge the videos I've missed. Greetings from a food and history enthusiast all the way in Honduras y

I got a question for you Barry. You always end your videos saying whether or not you’d make the sandwich again but since you make a new sandwich every day how often do you actually remake say a typical 6-7 sandwich?
@SandwichesofHistory7 ай бұрын
Good question. I usually say "I would" or "I will" to indicate future intent. It's also a way to underscore that the sandwich is tasty enough make again. But you're correct, I am making new ones everyday. The only one I've made a couple times again is The Tomato from Turkey and the Wolf in New Orleans. That said, I am keep track of data on each vid including weather I would make it again.

(surprised at the amount of oil and fat in the Msemen, though!!) Thanks, Barry, for going to the trouble! (that was a lot of harissa that you used, if I used a similar amount of the kind that I have it would probably blow my head off🤯)

The only time I had "Mediterranean" food was at a Time-Out deli, I think it was a gyro or kebab or... you know. I didn't like sauce, I'm not sure, it might have been tzatziki? It was especially sour. Mayo would have been more to my taste.

A definite 10! Might be easier to make if you used jarred "fire roasted" salsa and pan toasted flat pita bread. Just watched two videos on this sandwich. Both make a pizza like dough and cooked spiced cubes of chicken in a pan. I'd go this way as I don't like having to do the whole breading thing.

I had a friend from Morocco, who made a very similar sarny for my GF and I when we were over at he and his wife's place. It was called a "Khobz," he made it using store bought Pita, but everything else, he and his wife made from scratch. Phenomenal! It had me making knockoff Pita wraps for years, using a variety of wrong but inspired ingredients from the Asian markets in my home town.
