I have now also recorded these clocomotives on the BinZhou line (Qiqihaer - Manzhouli) and NanJiang line (Tulufan - Kuerle), I'll post the results in my KZbin channel when I'm back in Belgium... :-) The locomotives are surprisingly loud (And they make a cool, vicious sound in dynamic braking!), but unfortunately not as loud as a DF8B or DF4B... :-)

They have low axle load, only 25ton; american locomotive are much heavier and american lines usually have less passenger traffic than chinese lines.

@lukebccb It actually didn't. That second HXN5 might just be getting moved somewhere. It was dead in tow. Wasn't even on. That being said, 3 4,250 horsepower locomotives to pull the Empire Builder?lol

The GE-built ND5s (which are Basically Chinese version of the American C36-7) came with (and still have) Leslie RS3L horns on them, which sound amazing on any diesel locomotive!
