Multiple Sclerosis Symptoms Video: • 20 लक्षण जानिए - मल्टी...
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a complex neurological condition characterized by the immune system attacking the myelin sheath, the protective covering of nerve fibers within the central nervous system (CNS), leading to various symptoms. Although MS affects individuals differently, four primary types or stages have been identified to classify and understand the disease's progression: clinically isolated syndrome (CIS), relapsing-remitting MS (RRMS), secondary progressive MS (SPMS), and primary progressive MS (PPMS).
CIS marks a person's initial episode of neurological symptoms due to CNS myelin damage, often considered the precursor to MS. It can manifest as monofocal (involving one neurological symptom) or multifocal (involving multiple symptoms), but not all cases progress to MS. Transition to RRMS, the most common form, is characterized by periodic flare-ups of symptoms followed by periods of remission. Relapses, triggered by immune attacks on nerve myelin, may vary in severity and duration, impacting different parts of the body's signaling pathways.
SPMS represents a shift from inflammation to neurodegeneration, with symptoms worsening gradually over time, even though occasional relapses may still occur. The transition from RRMS to SPMS typically occurs after 10-25 years, influenced by treatments like disease-modifying therapies. PPMS, affecting about 15% of MS patients, presents as a progressive accumulation of disability from disease onset, with symptoms primarily driven by neurodegeneration. PPMS often affects the spinal cord, leading to mobility issues, bladder problems, and, less commonly, cerebellar involvement causing tremors and coordination difficulties.
In the advanced stages of MS, individuals may experience severe disability, often requiring assistance for daily activities and medical care. Symptoms, similar to early stages but more pronounced, can include bladder and bowel dysfunction, pain, swallowing and breathing difficulties, mobility limitations, cognitive impairments, and emotional changes. Despite the debilitating nature of these symptoms, MS itself is not considered fatal; however, complications like urinary tract infections or aspiration pneumonia can be life-threatening.

I deeply appreciate your kind support and words of appreciation. Well, stem cell therapy lacks approval for treating multiple sclerosis (MS). Nonetheless, this experimental method, explored through clinical trials, could potentially reduce relapses and impede disease progression in specific MS cases. It's crucial to acknowledge that it may not benefit all individuals with MS. The decision to pursue this treatment warrants thorough discussion with neurologists and/or MS specialists, who can assess the individual's unique condition and overall health. Thank you for watching :)
