As lord Murugan in his previous birth he is sanatkumara son of lord brahma..once lord shiv & Parvati arrived infront of him and tested him as a result shiv knows he is brahmagnani(the one who revealed brahmajjanam)On request and shiv asks boon from sanatkumara to be reborn as my son...in his next birth he born as kartikeya...he is very special & unique because he born with shiv & Parvati powers ...he appear as lord shiv third eye at last he take birth in Saravana( which Parvati himself from as Saravana lake)pogai lake ...he is parabrahman , supreme god ,,in his 108 shlokas one of sloka is om anathashaktiye means he has infinite powers & endless..he fought with demon tarakasura on the 7th day of his birth ..he shown his vishwaroopam 2 times..in his vishwaroopam all worlds creations mountains all devas devathas nagas Vedas ,sun , moon,in his arms vishnu Brahma and on his head lord shiv....he is Shiva himself...he is also lord of serpents,he is ruling Mangal graha, he is mahasena and guru of lord Shiva(swaminatha by telling om meaning)..in his childhood has killed indra and other devas easily but later restored them to life on request of brihaspati..he broken vajra weapon into 1000 pieces..he granted Rishi vishwamitra the post of brahmarshi...he is also Siddhar..in childhood he pushed meru mount in patalok&stopped flow of ganga river...he broken 7great mountains @islands..he posses trident of lord shiv&discus of lord Vishnu..he has super natural powers that he can release flames of fire from his mouth...he can lift infinite universes on his shoulder..he caught the pasupatastra of lord shiva with his bear hands..lord Indra requested to skanda to rule all these three worlds but he rejected ..he is brave, masculine, knowledge, perfection handsome as thousand crores of manmathas,he has icha ,kriya,gnana Shakti .his six faces shows 5 elements of the nature &sixth head as goddess Shakti as kundalini energy..he is god of wars& commander ofthe army of gods..in Mahabharata krisna said amongst the senas am skanda..he killed several demons .. daughters of lord Vishnu wanted to marry skand...both they did several penances to marry lord kartikeya..he is worshipping across all the world Singapore Malaysia srilanka, reunion Island, Mauritius .he is worshipping in Chinese Buddhism , Korean Buddhism , guardian God in Jainism, Malek Taus in Kurdistan ,Marduk or Dumuzid in sumeria , .khmer kandan in cambodia ,.Ai - Khadir by Arabs, Murugu or Mlungu in Africa , Amun in Egypt etc ...lord Murugan also God for yazhidies live in Iraq and turkey.....at his birth process even lord agni , river ganga, earth can't bear the fireball..only lord shiv @shakti can bear it..the secret behind teaching skanda philosophy to vishwamitra maharshi Sri Rama is that the intention of vishwamitra is to enter skandas energy into Ram.. subramanya swamy Yajna is a symbol of philosophy,as well as srimahavishnu is also described as a Yajna man& a symbol of Yagnatva in Vishnu sahasra names . In that itself ,there are names like" Skandaa skandadharo duryo varado vayuvahanaa"for srimahavishnu ,that means skanda , subramanya, mahavishnu are the same philosophy ..The powers of lord Murugan: He is special because he has the unique combination of the power of sakthi derived from mother parvati and the power of knowledge acquired from father siva ..He appeared on earth with the combination of all powers and knowledge with a view to provide peace and security...It is mentioned in the Shiva mahapurana Lord Murugan as the supreme god ... Murugan is not different from shiva..He and lord shiva are one and the same...The sect of "koumaaram"( worship of lord subrahmanya) originated from the name ' kumara'. There are six sects called 'Shanmatha' in which each diety is exalted to the state of the" Supreme being" and worshipped .
