I’m learning to be a minimalist mentally and emotionally by not engaging in things or situations that don’t improve my life. The recession has hit hard everywhere so anybody reading this you are not alone. We will make it. It’s not about building wealth at the moment. We just need to make it through without being too hard on ourselves. Try something new and keep your mind occupied with positive energy. Be kind and be grateful. Karma will find you and return to you what you gave out. Speak words of affirmation to yourself often. It’s the little things in life that will keep us going. Best wishes friends🤗

@@margarettownsley9500 Yes I did. I had three different kinds of bags. Black bags, clear bags, and green bags. Everything I didn't want to keep were put into black bags, the precious things ( like photo albums) that I kept were put into clear bags and the practical things like hair straighteners that I wanted to keep, were put into green bags. Hope this helps :)

I’m so thankful that I was raised with that mindset. My parents come from very different economic backgrounds but they both agreed that money can skew your perspective on what you really want. They made their decisions based on what they truly wanted and not how much they could spend. My most precious memories with them for example are walking through the forest together and being taught every little detail about this amazing eco system, which plants and mushrooms were edible, which animals were there and why they acted the way they did. Now when I go outside into nature it’s like a wonderland to me. My parents taught me how to appreciate beauty, that’s the most precious thing in my life.

My parents are also from very different economic backgrounds. However my dad is also a nature enthusiast and my grandpa, his dad, majored in Forestry in college. There's a pattern forming here. When you defocus from the concrete jungle and attune to nature, you realize that the past is just a figment of your imagination and everything is new, all around you. You're also naturally gorgeous and your husband must be a real winner. Either that he's some homeless guy you rescued. Best wishes.

I’ve been a minimalist for about 3 years now,now that I look back I can happily say I have bought less than 10 clothing items this year 2023. That would’ve been a crazy thought couple years ago (I was shop-addicted) but now I find joy in the little things instead of materialistic things,i know sometimes we think it’s hard but enjoy the process and you will make it!

There are 2 currencies in life, time and money. Time is worth more to me than any amount of money in the world. As long as I have enough money to live a comfortable, humble life, I'm happy. The worst feeling is being trapped in the rat race because you are busy keeping up with what society tells you that you need.

Absolutely. The most beautiful day of our life is the day we wake up and realize that we now somehow know what our life's purpose is. That moment of enlightenment, preferably experienced as early in one's life as possible is the sweetest and most rewarding creative construction from our consciousness. From that special moment on, for the rest of our life, we experience and interpret reality in a magical and utterly beautiful way. It's no accident that the ancient work from the Greek Stoics remains so current to guide modern living.

Socrates used to visit the market place regularly, stand & stare at the displayed objects, but never bought anything. One day, someone who was watching him, asked Socrates, why do you visit the market place, when you don’t buy anything at all. Socrates replied, I’m just figuring out, as to how many things I don’t need in life. Moral is happiness is a state of mind, not material or the substances we gather.

@@MalamaLife The core issue with money is that it generates general belief that some people deserve more degrees of freedom than others and become more valuable for economy than they become for society. However, our whole society is driven by values that demand us to increase our income in all possible ways. The constant race for recognition and power we are made to believe sums up our reality forces us to make evil decisions more than it forces us to make good decisions that focus on the benefit of everyone and not just one. All in all, this is a cycle that creates nothing but inequity, unfairness and injustice. By doing so, we also forget that the same effect applies to nature causing it to change dramatically in order to reduce inequity and generate homeostasis. There are too many people in the world that seem to fear true homeostasis, who actually prefer severe inequity over equality. The true meaning of life is to strive for harmony, peace with nature and its beings and time that enables us to perceive the beauty of the universe.

i've never felt so guilty by just watching a single video.. i've always wanted to try on being a minimalist but my bad habit is that i get easily swayed on buying bunch of stuffs online. if my earnings increased i tend to buy more stuffs than usual. always thought to buy expensive stuffs as the quality might be better than the cheaper ones but to be honest not all expensive stuffs are worth their price. "things that fill our house don't add long lasting value to our lives" hits so hard when i got used to endless decluttering. we also have this toxic trait here in philippines were we always tend to say "I DESERVE THIS" then purchase unnecessary things without even doing anything haha "luxury turns into a need and as a result we can't save for those bigger purchases that might have a bigger impact on our lives" WILL DEFINITELY WRITE THIS DOWN. will def binge watch your channel. can feel that i can learn a lot.

I think i have always been a minimalist, though I didn't have a name for it, I don't like too much things in my space ,just last year I got rid of so many clothes and just random things around my apartment that I felt no need for, I felt so light after that.

My material needs are on the level like a having properly hard mattress for my spine or washing machine.. I wake up every day and I grateful for what I have, but I wanna be more minimalistic having Choice, because now I have so many things that serve as one good which I can't afford.. Sometimes money is all what you need to change. But maybe not money, just faith?..

I was raised in a very poor family so I learned how to save up money from the very young age. Becoming a minimalist only help me to save up ten times more. Unfortunately we live in a society where we take million times more than we should and the money turns the world so every saved penny counts.

Much needed to hear & see this today…. Thank you. :) I donated so many things these passed few months. After my father passed away in April I realized material things didn’t mk happy. The happiness I seek left with him….. now my daily goal is contentment…. What makes me content today? :)

I’m sorry for you loss 🙏🏼🤍 that’s a beautiful way to see things, with materialism and the nostalgia that’s attached to it. It’s good to see that it was the person that we loved all along..
