I’m learning to be a minimalist mentally and emotionally by not engaging in things or situations that don’t improve my life. The recession has hit hard everywhere so anybody reading this you are not alone. We will make it. It’s not about building wealth at the moment. We just need to make it through without being too hard on ourselves. Try something new and keep your mind occupied with positive energy. Be kind and be grateful. Karma will find you and return to you what you gave out. Speak words of affirmation to yourself often. It’s the little things in life that will keep us going. Best wishes friends🤗

@@MalamaLife The core issue with money is that it generates general belief that some people deserve more degrees of freedom than others and become more valuable for economy than they become for society. However, our whole society is driven by values that demand us to increase our income in all possible ways. The constant race for recognition and power we are made to believe sums up our reality forces us to make evil decisions more than it forces us to make good decisions that focus on the benefit of everyone and not just one. All in all, this is a cycle that creates nothing but inequity, unfairness and injustice. By doing so, we also forget that the same effect applies to nature causing it to change dramatically in order to reduce inequity and generate homeostasis. There are too many people in the world that seem to fear true homeostasis, who actually prefer severe inequity over equality. The true meaning of life is to strive for harmony, peace with nature and its beings and time that enables us to perceive the beauty of the universe.

I’m so thankful that I was raised with that mindset. My parents come from very different economic backgrounds but they both agreed that money can skew your perspective on what you really want. They made their decisions based on what they truly wanted and not how much they could spend. My most precious memories with them for example are walking through the forest together and being taught every little detail about this amazing eco system, which plants and mushrooms were edible, which animals were there and why they acted the way they did. Now when I go outside into nature it’s like a wonderland to me. My parents taught me how to appreciate beauty, that’s the most precious thing in my life.

My parents are also from very different economic backgrounds. However my dad is also a nature enthusiast and my grandpa, his dad, majored in Forestry in college. There's a pattern forming here. When you defocus from the concrete jungle and attune to nature, you realize that the past is just a figment of your imagination and everything is new, all around you. You're also naturally gorgeous and your husband must be a real winner. Either that he's some homeless guy you rescued. Best wishes.

good for you, organizing and down sizing. it's so important to your self esteem to have space instead of stuff. I like Ikea for curtains. They are cheap and often cotton, which is a nice plus. I only want washable curtains, so I can spring clean once a year. My trick for shopping Ikea is to only buy what's on my list. Their stuff only looks good there, once i get it home if it wasn't on my list, it looks like crap, and returns are brutal, even though I do them. I make my list from what i absolutely need and from shopping online, so I'm not distracted. Last time they had pretty curtains there that weren't online but still, that was on my list to buy curtains. My place is furnished now, this phase is over, but for you, enjoy the process of decorating your place. Best wishes for your continued 'less is more".

It guides me to make an intentional decision ❤ Even though I was spending my money on therapies that I needed or pills for my well being, some would blame me for not being tough enough, and their words affected me on some level. But if it provides value I don't want to make myself feel so bad about purchasing an item or therapies. Korean society has deep seated anxiety on stability of life. It traps people to think that what they have is never enough. You have been so helpful in my efforts to not be swayed and limited by this demanding culture.

Absolutely. The most beautiful day of our life is the day we wake up and realize that we now somehow know what our life's purpose is. That moment of enlightenment, preferably experienced as early in one's life as possible is the sweetest and most rewarding creative construction from our consciousness. From that special moment on, for the rest of our life, we experience and interpret reality in a magical and utterly beautiful way. It's no accident that the ancient work from the Greek Stoics remains so current to guide modern living.

I can relate. I'm single too and it can be hard at times. I'm currently renting a piece of land for growing food and it is involving lots of manual labour - lots of digging, shovelling, fixing, woodwork, carrying heavy loads etc. I'm also aiming to go self employed plus doing all the household chores. I often wish I had someone to share the work with, both the good and bad times. Once the food grows it will be great, its just not easy getting to that stage. I got so tired this week from digging and shovelling I had to rest for days to recover. Couples are definitely fortunate. I'm just trying to remember that I'm capable too and that my dreams are possible, I just have to pace rather than exhaust myself.

Great and timing video, Building wealth involves developing good habits like regularly putting money away in intervals for solid investments. Financial management is a crucial topic that most tend to shy away from, and ends up haunting them in the near future. Putting our time and effort in activities and investments that will yield a profitable return in the future is what we should be aiming for. Success depends on the actions or steps you take to achieve it. "You're not going to remember those expensive shoes you bought ten years ago, but you will remember every single morning when you look at your bank account that extra 0 in there. I promise, that's going to be way more fun to look at everyday", I pray that anyone who reads this will be successful in life too 🙏🙏🙏

The majority of my money is spent on books which I treasure and personally don't want to give up on. This is also what I want from my life: To earn enough money to live, and maybe be able to buy books occasionally. I plan to spent my next vacation in summer with my mom in a monastery. We haven't decided on which one yet, but I hope it'll be one with a nice background and architecture. My hope is to find some inspiration to draw something there. I hope it'll be a nice experience.

And even though I love books so much, I often don't buy physical books anymore. I buy them digital since I have a reader for it. This saves me a lot of space. My favorite books I still buy though and I won't ever give that up :P

I will always be a maximalist, because I am nostalgic and like to make choices! I also declutter regularily. But I need the presence of books, memories, photos, many blankets and many pillows. And many plants in my garden that looks a bit wild but has so many insects and birds! ❤ Being happy with what you have and grateful is the key. 🗝 No matter your style of interior and way of living.

I want to share that it's going to be my first month since I started my first full-time work, and I am trying to start living a life that would not burn me off on all the efforts I have been and will be doing. I was someone who likes to be on trend before having to catch up on buying things that don't really benefit me and I would like to fully change that by being a better decision-maker. I believe your advice, especially on the short mental check-list, will keep me motivated and guided all throughout my days both at life and work. Thank you Sophie ❤

Omg 😣 If i see another *_'beautiful person' in a beautiful video in a field, on a beach, pottering about in their beautiful home with soft, sensitive music in the background as she narratives with a calm almost whispering voice_* I SHALL SCREAM 😣

I'm so happy that this video was recommend to me on KZbin. Besides the lovely content, meaningful message and calm voice, the images that you show are amazing and speak directly to my heart. I'm from Algarve and I've recognized the places you show right away. Currently I'm living and working abroad and sometimes struggle with "saudades" (you probably know this word already). This video made me so happy and felt home being far away ❤️ I'm glad you have chosen my beautiful region to live and wish you all the best there 🤗

Really enjoyed your video thank you, We are changing so many things atm to create a lot more comfort with our finances. Living a simpler life and not above our means. After all the children had moved out we seemed to be more lavish and this has led us to a place now where we need to make changes. Building businesses can be such hard work and to not have a good budget around this brings so much stress. 🥰

You always speak how I’m feeling! It’s like we are on the same page, and it’s nice hearing it from you. You are like my therapist. Always looking forward to your videos. I have also travel in my 20s in hostels, but now in my 30s I realized I would like to stay in nicer places with my bf. I usually get massages but it’s been nice treating myself.
