Malawi builds its Own Sea Port on Mozambique Coast for next 100 yrs
Mozambique is planning to lease part of its northern port of Nacala to neighboring landlocked Malawi. The deal seeks to boost trade ties between the two countries. To formalize the initiative, Mozambican President Filipe Nyusi and his Malawian counterpart, Lazarus Chakwera, last week signed initial agreements of the concession deal.

Zambia has a dry port in Namibia. The distance between The Port of Walvis a Bay and Lusaka, is almost the same as the distance between Lusaka and port of Nacala. Zambia ais currently exporting all its copper through the Port of Walvis Bay in Namibia.

Be factual. Walvis Bay to Sesheke Zambia is about 1500km and to lusaka more than 2300km dependingon the route used. The ports in Namibia are too far for Zambia to use. Dar es salaam is far shorter than walvis bay and the shortest sea port for Zambia is Nacala true.

You were very quick to make the statement that Malawi will build a port on Mozambican territory... this will be heavily contested and it will not be easy to obtain this concession until the Mozambicans who were not consulted approve it... Mozambican civil society is not one to joke around and the President spoke of this intention and no decision has been made yet, besides the current President of Mozambique leaves in January and a new one will come in then... take it easy. It is great to help Malawi and strong collaboration between African countries is very necessary, but without the blessing of the various sectors that need to be consulted this would be a curse.

Filipe Nyuse did not admit that Malawi will build its dry port in that part of Mozambique. The only thing is that, Malawi will have to build a warehouse in Nacala port to store goods for eventual exportation or importation.

When Major Forbes was given an order by Rhodes to drive the Portuguese from Manicaland in Rhodesia the Portuguese ran for their lives with Major Forbes giving chase. From around Headlands to Mutare. By third day Forbes has reached Mutare and he sent a telegram to Rhodes asking him for permission to continue chasing the Portuguese to Beira Rhodes was hungover that day and he didn't reply. Port of Beira is not in Pemba, is in Beira city. Nacala is part of Nampula province the most populated province in Mozambique. Nacala is a deep water port, karadeniz powership is a powerplant. kkkkk Malawi will buy all the gas from Moz???? kkkkkkkkkk yeah you should read more. it is all related to business, moz is doing business with these friendly countries. for ex: to target Zambia flow of goods , there is the project of Macuse Porti.

🇹🇿From my point of view,the best port for Malawi i think is Mtwara in the southern part of Tanzania to Mbamba bay then to Nkata bay in Malawi.This route is only about 800km by road.This route cuts Malawi at the middle ,so it would be easier to serve both north and south.Also Tanzania is soon to construct standard gauge railway from mtwara Ruvuma to mbamba bay so mtwara is the best port!The poverty of Malawi is not caused by Tanzania as we are also poor. Don't mislead us . Poverty of Africa is combination of many factors corruption, embezzlement of public fund, colonial history, geography and so on.
