Hi. Are you in UK? I’m also from Malim Nawar and went to the Methodist primary school. My father also worked at the Perak river hydro power station in the workshop. Do you remember Mr. Hook from UK who was in charge of the whole plant. I was born in 1954 and now live in UK. Would love to chat with you about our hometown sometime. Kind regards Kheng

Hello. Yes am in Brighton. You are a decade ahead of me. Mr. Saw Thian Bee was the Headmaster at MPS then. Never heard of Mr. Hook, but Mr. Hazzelgrave was "chief" at Perak Hydro at the time, I was about 10 but he left soon after. I made a video of Malim Nawar and there were a few comments from folks who used to live and worked in Perak Hyrdo, you might know some of them. It's amazing how so many have found the Malim Nawar episode which I was not planning to release, thinking who would want to watch a video of Malim Nawar. Feel free to email me. Take care.😀

👍Thankyou. More good info - The No bikes sign was a bit scary... I was surprised to see on the train journey that your folded bike was in clear view, wheels and all. So I'm assuming there is no security check on the bags. That would be good news. A quick question - Are there Malaysia specific apps for pre-booking accommodation?

I have been using Booking.com app, works a treat. I have used it for hostel, motels and hotels. I didn't have any issue (yet). On hind sight, I could have hidden the bike a bit better, and no, the ticket conductor did not even bother to check. That's what I call an adventure :)
