Malaysia’s INSANE Project Forest City in 2030
Hello and Welcome Back To my Channel Future Planet, Where we discuss all things Future !
Malaysia is pushing to reopen its economy to the world after two years of covid-related border closures, but a $100 billion megacity spearheaded by a Chinese developer off the country’s coast near Singapore remains largely stuck in neutral.
Forest City is a multipurpose city-level development project located in Malaysia's Special Economic Zone (SEZ) near the border Shared with Singapore. The 30-year construction development plan was created in 2006 as part of the Malaysian Government's Economic Transformation Plan and was implemented by the Government of Singapore and the Government of Malaysia.

“And was implemented by the government of Singapore and…” If you’re referring to Forest City itself, No. Singapore has no part to play with it. It also disagreed with the ecological impact of the development

Yup。 Trying a cheap marketing ploy to bolster the credibility of the project.

I was shocked where they get this info from, Singapore had nothing to do with this and I believe Singapore don't want to deal with this.

Singspore land reclamation a lot bigger. It encompasses the entire southern coast. And the new Tuas port and pulau ubin. So what ecological damage is the Singapore government worried about? Entire island in Indonesia disappeared due to Singapore reclamation.

This is exactly the problem, if you build all these projects for the rich and the well of wealthy billionaires and not taking into consideration the average citizen, then this facade breaks down really fast. Again, the self Egocentric self centered architects and developers are at work..

Just more than just self-centered architects and developers. The local and central government too have to take part of the blame as they are the ones who gave the okay to the project.

What’s worse is that this is a mega township project, not a condo or two. How are they gonna look for that much residence at that calibre?

@@jigeahah5058 It is such a big waste on resources when everyone has been asked to stop using a little plastic bag. It should be converted to some kind of low cost housings. Edit: Or converting them into jails to hold all corrupted politicians.

The Chinese bought even more expensive properties in Singapore. Anything wrong here. Malaysia properties can't even hold a candle to Singapore.

Ya and also do not use electricity for lighting, heating, cooking etc. Just go back to using charcoal stove for cooking and kerosene lanterns for lighting as in the kampong days. 😂

Not surprising that the project failed due mainly to its previous racist PM who wouldn't want the proliferation of Chinese in the country. That same PM's own goal of Vision 2020 of turning the country into a developed country by 2020 also failed.

Singapore is integrating all races, mahatir always play sectarian politics especially during elections. That’s why Singapore is high income per capita and Malaysia lagging further and further behind. So risky to invest in Malaysia.

Adio! Get your facts correct, the project is co-owned by Country Gardens of China and a company owned by Johor People's Infrastructure Group (KPRJ). Your comments are implying that Mercedes, BMW, Jaguar, Volvo etc must be owned by Chinese China then. So all the other races that drive them in Malaysia must be their chauffeurs then! That's offending and insulting.

Rubbish, the reason why it failed is because Malaysian government thinks like you. Chinese developer built on artificial islands, not on existing Malaysian land, they are adding to Malaysia territory and they have to abide by the laws of Malaysia. Unfortunately, Malaysian government abuses their power by banning Chinese from buying the properties in forest city. Although they changed their tone later, the damage was done. Some nation does not deserve prosperity, if you stop money coming in, you always will be poor.

This is what happens when those in the lead are so egoistic.....brainless.....greedy......and has the means to borrow money. The only good out of this.......is the dilipilated buildings.....aging and collapsing and the land reclaimed by the sea. This will continue for years and will be the icons for these fools. Those who bought pray hard
