my parents are rice dealers, so i basically grew up surrounded by rice..here in Philippines we measure differently with finger. the amount of rice in finger is same with water.. if your rice reaches the 2nd line of finger, then the water should be at that height..🇵🇭 what uncle roger said won't work if you are cooking rice for more than 10persons..

Of course the finger measuring technique wouldnt work for a feast. It is for homecook only which usually 1-2 cups or more appropriately 1-2 'cupak' (malay volume measurement 4 cupak / quarts = 1 gantang / gallon).

Because he's imitating the HK accent (Cantonese accent) of most Chinese takeaway owners & restaurateurs in the UK. Nearly all Chinese restaurants & takeaways in the UK were owned by HK migrants between 1910 - early 2000s (because before 1962, HK citizens were offered British Citizenship provided they were born locally in HK - ie the citizenship offer did not extend to the rest of China) However, the economy of China has boomed so much over the past 20+years, and since then mainland Chinese start taking over a lot of Chinese restaurants & takeaways. So you hear mandarin accents more commonly nowadays esp in Chinatown.

For me this is the easiest and the quickest way to cook fried egg rice. So use this when you desperate and craving want eat fried rice. But we all know that we not cook rice like that for dinner. Cause we cook for family. This trick is just for yourself to eat. Don't Blaim uncle roger for roasted her, cause not only him that triggered of the way she cook the rice.
