Love this idea. My rankings with no reasons given are today Jacaruku > Seven Cities > Assail > Quon Tali > Lether > Korel > Genebakis

Yeah I agree on Lether. The diversity is immense. We have the Lether empire, which gives off that Quan Tali or Genebackis vibes. The idea that Hood left this place and dead souls wander lost is very interesting. The northern regions of Edur are very scandinavian feeling to me and I love it. They also have the Tiste that Gothos captured in ice in the prologue. The wastelands are harsh, reminding me of Seven Cities, which gets us into the Glass Desert. Glass Desert has Icarias, which is suchhh a cool concept for a city and the wasteleands have Kalse Rooted and Ampelas Rooted IIRC, which are the two coolest ideas for a city ever. I will die on the hill that the d'ivers in glass desert is none other than Grizzin Farl and I really enjoyed Forkrull Assail thrmatically, which connects nicely with this d'ivers roaming the desert mindlessly and the setting of Kolanse. Yeah, I love this place so so much.

Lether is definitely one of my favorite settings for many of the reasons you mentioned, as well as Kolanse and the Glass Desert. I like its internal diversity compared to what's explored in some of the other settings. I love the mysteries and sense of deep past in Seven Cities. I really got the feeling of civilizations built on top of one another. Deadhouse Gates also was the point when the depth and breadth of the world's history started really sinking in for me. I also loved the scenes in the Jhag Odhan; the description of the land resonated deeply for me. Genabackis is mixed for me. All the stuff with the Rhivi and the Teblor captured my imagination, same with the Barghast. I'm sort of lukewarm on Darujhistan, which is weird because i like a lot of the characters and stories there, and i think the gas lights and tight rope bridges are cool. It just didn't impact me emotionally as a place. I'd like to explore the other free cities too, and their dynamic with each other before and after contact with the Malazan empire. Seeing more of the Moranth and the Cloud Forest would be sweet. I also like the bits and pieces we get about Mott Wood, Blackdog, and Morn. I guess my main hang-up with Genabackis is most of my favorite parts are peripheral to the books i've read so far.

You should consider whether there is enough material to do a video on non-traditional 'realms' (at least the most important ones, such as the nascent and/or different kurald emurlahn settings, kharkanas whether as in book 9/10 or as in the prequels, refugium, ...). If so, that should be full spoilers.
