Thanks for your video, was the best I found to follow on my 2005 Tahoe. Took me a little over an hour to complete. Looking at your video again, I see that the hose to my fluid tank is not pushed on as far as yours, so I better redo that part (it's really hard to push that one on for some reason). Everything else went smooth, and my truck is no longer leaking fluid.

question...on the new hose it has 3 clamps on the connector piece to all 3 hoses...thats the piece that broke on my truck, can i just replace that connector piece instead of replacing the entire unit? Thats how my truck is set up...i have 3 clamps there whereas on your original piece there are no clamps

FYI, There's a really cool tool to remove those particular clamps. Don't ask me the name bc I can't remember. The hobby shop on base had them. I used them and afterwards I went to Sears and bought it. It really helps to clamp down and it locks in place.

If theres a leak in any of those two hoses will cause over heating?
@aldopaints6703 жыл бұрын
Yes, ‘cause you would be losing coolant through the cracks. It’s mostly the y connector that’s the problem. It is made out of plastic, so it cracks really easily.

I bought the 60 dollar option from O'Reilly's and it allows for a easy splice into the old QC on my '05 silverrobbo , those older version Quick Connect aren't the easy quick disconnect like in this video, they were a time saver on the GM assembly line, but to remove them is another story, the passenger side one can be hell to remove since there's barely enough room to get the removal tool in place and then getting my fingers to do what is supposed to be done is damn near impossible, the updated QC's are better for removal.

@@MaldonadosGarage just ordered it! I’m nervous about the top connection. 2 years ago I had the replace the top heater core connector that is the to the left. The part that said it fit didn’t include the right style connector to connect the hose. It did have a barb end so I wound up removing the inner hose piece to just slide onto the new barb and hose clamp it.
