I think the reason why Sydney stated that "playing the Sims doesn't count" as video games because these types of women try to excuse themselves playing video games such as the Sims and Animal Crossing while demonizing the men in their lives (boyfriends, brothers, sons, husbands) for playing video games they don't like. aight, so my gf don't really play games, she watches very little anime, she does watch kdrama, listen to songs, read novels, and watch movies. I like anime, games, watching gameplays, workout and I am here so watching vtubers. We have very different things we do in our free time, but we understand each other, we do play games, watch movies, dramas, animes together, we even do workout together, and we also go out and take in some fresh air, look around just relaxing. We both have our things to do, I am studying, she stopped and started working but we can spend time together without problem. Point is, we can all enjoy what we do while being together, just compromise, communication is key to do that. The women that say video games are bad is just hating on video games, it's not the other things like oh you are not paying attention to me, you are not being productive, yada yada yada, just do what you like to do, if you are in a relationship, do pay attention to your partner, don't play too much or watch anime or movies too much, everything in moderation like captain said and ignore those people, they are crazy. Stay healthy, both physically and mentally and have a great day.
@PhillyCh3zSt3ak22 күн бұрын
It honestly is pure jealousy and projection from those types of people. These women are jealous that their man isn't paying attention to them 24/7 and fear that they're less interesting than the fictional women in a video game (which is probably true and is pure projection). And instead of communicating with their partner (which they always rag on men that they're terrible at - they're just as bad), they blame it in video games and other hobbies.

So glad to hear someone else say it out loud, how playing a video game can be like reading a book, watching a show, or a movie. Cause that’s exactly what it is to me, just more engaging. I have SO many books I wanna read, or shows/movies I wanna watch, but I keep putting them off cause the stories in the games I play keep my interest so much more And thankfully, my wife also understands that 😂 Edit: also what I think is funny, and a little sad, about millenials growing up with the ‘video games are for nerds’ stigma is that before the video game crash in the 80s, they WERE considered cool, along with similar things. How many 70s/early 80s movies show gangs of ‘cool’ teenagers around the arcade machine or pinball, cheering on their buddy trying to get the new high score? Hell, there was a whole musical about the Pinball Wizard

Actually no, there's much evidence for the fact that violent games prime people to be more violent. Google search "American Psychological Association video game violence" there is much more evidence than what this search will show but it's a good starting point. I used to think like you but then my psychologist told me about the ill effects video games have been proven to have on people. I've played plenty of violent video games and the only time I was ever violent irl was pushing a bully over when I was 11. I'm 28 now and have never hurt anyone or had many aggressive thoughts so the effects aren't the same on everyone. But yeah, violent games have a net negative effect on society. Also, if you're already aggresive, violent games have been shown to have a much stronger effect on you.

Sometimes I can have very long gaming sessions. However, I always favor an outing with my friends, I always favor a moment as a couple, I play when I have free time, when everything I have to do is done. Yes, people judge without knowing the reasons or without wanting to understand the other person. As far as I'm concerned, if such and such a hobby brings you happiness, then do it, I'd never go against it, as long as (as you said) it doesn't become an addiction and I'm neglected (or I neglect the other person). Shoutouts to Harvest Moon, still can't believe they killed off 3(2)DS for the switch which is NOT a handheld console since it can't fit in my pocket. all i wanted was ps3 level ninty home console, switch is ps2 HD, no reason 3 houses/ other games should have such long loading times. or heat the room like i was playing some pc games on high graphics. good video Aquwa

I missed the part where that's my problem. I didn't miss the part where I enjoy playing videogames and collecting figurines though 😄 Maybe these kind of women should try playing a bit less "social theatre" and start being a bit more human instead.
