Looking aweome...do your red ear's breed for you?
@Day5Aquatics6 жыл бұрын
DWSDARIUS FISH TANKS they haven’t shown any signs but I haven’t had them a full year yet and being wild caught, they are more likely to show signs of breeding when spring comes.

GDee Cichlids central longear sunfish. Native to a large part of the US. They’re mostly found in creeks and streams so you won’t likely catch them fishing in lakes.

This tank is awesome! The turtle is amazing and the colors on the longears are incredible! I want some now! How big is this tank, a 125 gallon?
@Day5Aquatics6 жыл бұрын
Restless Natives it’s a 75. Big enough for the longears but eventually I’m going to have to figure something out with the turtle.

Great tank! I really like the drift wood. did you buy that or just find it? if so how did you prepare such a large piece for the tank?
@Day5Aquatics6 жыл бұрын
David Shrider I bought the big piece eBay. The rest of them I bought in different pet stores. I weighed it down in a tub for a few months. And then the big piece I screwed a piece of slate to the bottom of it to keep it down.

Good looking tank. I just made a video but was over 15min. on my phone and didn't complete the upload. If this was my aquarium, and kept it native, I'd probablly have regular guppies and I saw a snout softleather, turtle once. I've also seen snapping turtles in the wild but would rather put these into a 2k pond. Use the tank for nano fish. Maybe an angel or female betta.

Asian Arawana I’m obsessed with native sunfish so that’s what I’m gonna keep in here. The turtle stays for its personality alone. It’s in an office and the turtle draws people in because she has a great personality.

Nice video, id like to find some long ears, i have 3 warmouth, 2 green sunfish, 1 rock bass and 1 redbreast sunfish right now

GOONIE GOO GOO my green sunfish just killed all my longears this week. I’m totally gutted about it. I think he started to dig a nest and defend it and killed the rest in the process. I didn’t find it till the next day and the massive ammonia build up ended up killing him too.

Day5 Aquatics damn that sucks, my redbreast seems to run the tank but isnt to aggressive
@Day5Aquatics6 жыл бұрын
GOONIE GOO GOO the green was a new addition but hadn’t seemed too aggressive up till then. He wasn’t even the boss of the tank really. But something snapped.

Day5 Aquatics I would love to have a native tank but I live in northern New Jersey and I really don't want to have the fish from these Waters in my house but maybe in 6 months from now I'll move down to Georgia Florida and then I'll do one
@Day5Aquatics6 жыл бұрын
AQUA FUNK W/ ANGEL FREAK there’s some good looking fish up by you. I’m not sure if redbreast sunfish are up that far north but if they are, they’re worth checking out
