This entire thing is strange. The fact that a court is even taking on this case is just weird to me. I fail to see how they have a right to tell Hybe they can't fire someone. What they should be doing is charging her with all the embezzlement and other crimes. Also, I'm sorry, but I find New Jeans to be just as bad. At the end of the day, if they are supporting her against Hybe the company that owns theirs, then they should be held accountable too. I don't think her lawyers feel she can win her injunction or else they would've stopped MHJ from doing this. This reality Kdrama is going to end on May 31st. And the 31st can't come soon enough. It's crazy that she's claiming HYBE and the number 1 law firm in South Korea provided false evidence to the court and people believe her. Why would the lawyers risk losing their licenses by submitting false evidence? Unlike MHJ's unprofessional ramblings, evidence provided in court cannot be fabricated and has consequences. Still, if they were fake, her lawyers would have refuted it in court which they didn't. It's another thing if the KZbinr has provided chats that are different to the ones submitted, but she isn't refuting them just complaining about privacy. It is very easy to disprove them by allowing the release of the original chats submitted in court. She isn't even trying to explain them, just throwing allegations at HYBE without any proof of HYBE's wrongdoing or her innocence. Unlike music, a dance has only one aspect of it that can be copyrighted - a sequence of movements. That too it can't be just any set of movements, ex. you can't just throw together a few well-known moves and claim copyright on it. Just moves cannot be copyrighted. It has to a significant sequence that could not have been reproduced independently. It also has to be fixed in a certain way. Making these rules lax is just not practical. There are a lot of factors at play. A copyright may also not necessarily give them what they are hoping for. The choreographer for 'Single Ladies' (2008) was able to get copyright in the US only recently (2020) and it is a very special case. I think this case of a pop choreography being copyrightable (classical choreographies have already been using the law before) is what has prompted this. Whether this is more trouble than it's worth for most choreographers remains to be seen. Whether this is a precedent of a lone case in an ambiguous frame remains to be seen. It also costs a lot to document it and litigate. I personally think they are better off unionizing and demanding better pay and more conspicuous credit than pursuing copyright.

Honestly, to this day I don’t think Illit copied NewJeans. But I think as far back as when Illit’s lineup was announced last September MHJ knew there would be enough superficial similarities for her to cry out about mistreatment and have kpoppies buy into it. Most kpop girl groups can be seen on a sliding scale from girl crush to cute in terms of concept. And with underage members in the group (does MHJ think debuting minors was her completely original do not steal idea?) cute is a far more safe option to go for. It also does restrict them styling wise a little as any member who’s still in school can’t actually dye their hair, so a more natural look makes all the members look cohesive. But the thing is, even if they are both cuter concepts, they’re both VERY different interpretations of it, Illit have gone for a sweet, soft, girly vibe while NewJeans from the beginning has had this sort of confident tomboyish energy. They have the “same concept” in the same way Mamamoo and Blackpink have the same concept, like yeah I guess they’re both girlcrush if you squint at it, but are you REALLY going to sit here and tell me one of them is ripping the other off? Illit seems far more likely to go down an Oh My Girl route style wise than to start mirroring New Jeans. The only other similarity they have is that they’re working with the same restriction. Neither group has a powerhouse vocalist like Solar, Jihyo, Lily etc. who are going to start belting crazy high notes over the bridge, or any experienced rappers who are going to do something outside the standard style of kpop. So at most tonally they might be similar, but that’s just the reality of the groups members. Music wise, I’m pretty positive they’re not even the same genre. New Jeans’s foundation is R&B and they’ve been going a bit more into different club styles with their newer releases, while Illit so far is a lot more in the house and synthpop genres than anything NewJeans has done. The similarities are entirely skin deep, and the fact that any of us are having to say “so what if they copied it” so we can move on and get to the MAIN POINT OF THIS SITUATION like the LITERAL CRIMES being committed by MHJ is making the idiots fixated on this feel like they’re winning somehow.

Problem is you take a group of 5 girls and another group of 5 girls that are both similar ages. There will always be similarities. People will say ooo they are like so and so. Same of course with guys. You have the girls wear shorts and Tshirts or guys jeans and tshirts you will say wow they look like x group. Only so many colours and styles out there. Songs with 5 girl voices or 5 boys or whatever number will sound in someways similar. Only so many harmonies you can do. This is internal politics between Hybe and MHJ. At the end of the day, the majority shareholders have a right to decide whether they keep the CEO or not. The majority shareholders obviously have the interests of the company at heart, since they have so much at stake. So they are in the best position to decide if the current CEO is the best fit for the company and more importantly if they share the vision of the shareholders for the company. Its obvious that the current CEO doesnt share the vision of HYBE. I think the court would be making a terrible mistake to interfere in internal politics , unless there is proof that some criminal acts were perpetrated by either HYBE or MHJ. Otherwise HYBE should be left to settle this internal issue.

Well, that's the purpose of injuction. MHJ filed it to court to prevent HYBE from exercising their right as the majority sharesholder, which for me is crazy! I don't think if someone files a case, the court can outrightly dismiss it without a hearing. So yeah, they have no choice but to hear it as it is the obligation of the court to give any case a fair trial.

i guess ppl forget that BangPD and Big Hit WAS a small label...he work with their group, he put the effort and the hours and trying new things that wore not common at that time in K-pop and he made it.. he made a small company into a huge multi-label company along with the harworking ppl he had..BUT ppl are crying for MHJ and cursing HYBE because she wants to take the easy way and HYBE doesnt let her?? yes she works (like soooooo many others in the industry) but she is trying to take a shortcut and cries life is not fair?!!?? come on ppl need to start using common sence and start think before blindly believe the "persona" she is portaiyng .. is she was in the right she wouldnt have a press conferrence to apeall to public , she would simply go to court and state her case..

Big Hit was founded on February 1st 2005. How is that fast success and cheating? BTS debuted June 13th 2013. They worked their way up to where they are while staying humble. If BSH didn’t say hello and the divas were upset then it’s the CEO’S job to address it with BSH. Yet she is once again having a pity party. She didn’t state in the court that she tried to talk to BSH about a member of NJ being upset. All talk and no action which for a CEO shows that she is totally incapable of running a business. If she creates her own company or gets to take Ador with her, she will go bankrupt in no time. She definitely is enacting her plan that she says it’s a joke. She waited until BTS enlisted to make sure the Hybe value could be affected by rumours, leaks etc. she probably didn’t factor in the fact that even though the boys are enlisted, they are still rolling out content. And she only has another month to succeed because then Jin followed by JHope are back and everyone knows that when BTS and each member releases music, the share price of Hybe goes up by double digits.

I don't know how S. Korea legal system works but in America when the parent company audits they do NOT have to give notice. Also, all company correspondence is considered company property. HYBE is trying to protect it's company assets which include ADOR/NEWJEANS.

Do you think it’s possible that MHJ has a drinking problem? You know, an alcoholic. Just saying she shows all the hallmarks of overblown, paranoid, unrealistic image of herself, vicious and filterless behaviour with a soupçon of self destruction? I’ve worked with quite a few ladder climbers who try dubious means to reach their goal. Never works out for them. But, they invariably turn to the bottle or pills to keep up the momentum.
