I had surgery in 2022 and developed malignant Hyperthermia halfway through the surgery. it took the hospital 4.5 hours and 20 different doctors (who all gave me a different med when they came in) before they finally figured it out. I almost died

I am an MH patient. It gets far worse than that. I developed full body conscious spasms, resulting in me flailing around like a fish out of water. They dosed me again to knock me back out and they said I basically doubled over backwards, nearly snapping my own spine on the table before they got me strapped down and got Dantrolene in me.. Ever since, my heat tolerance has plummeted. I can no longer even be in direct sunlight for more than about 5 minutes... It seems I have a fairly severe case of it. I've had problems with heat my entire life... Now I know why, and it's getting worse by the day. x.x Those of you who don't have this... be thankful to whatever deity you believe in.

Dantrolene is the antidote I believe. How was your experience with Dantrolene?
@NoOneFPV6 ай бұрын
@@SuperPARNES Yes, Dantrolene is the antidote to the condition. It's a very powerful paralytic. As for the experience itself... Very strange. After I woke up initially, I actually FELT dead. I could feel nothing and could move nothing. I was only vaguely aware that I had a breathing tube. Once I became fully aware of and could feel the breathing tube, I started reflexively fighting it, so they removed it. It was rather surreal. I should have been terrified... but like I said, I FELT like I was actually already dead. It was one of the oddest sensations I've ever experienced. I really don't want to experience it again. Once was enough. x.x

www.mhaus.org/healthcare-professionals/managing-a-crisis This is basically the same form we keep on our Malignant Hyperthermia crash cart in the hospital pharmacy I work at. Keep in mind this is extremely rare. I know Pharmacists that I practice with that have been in the game for over 20 years and have never had to respond to case.
