Today, we sit down with actor Malik Barnhardt to discuss his journey into the movie industry.
Hailing from New Jersey, Malik faced no easy roads to success. A lack of opportunities quickly led him down the wrong path, and he soon paid the price for his misguided decisions. As a young teenager, Malik started using drugs and found moderate success as a dope dealer. However, it wasn't long before he got caught up with the law and faced his first drug case. Despite this, Malik continued on his path into drug dealing. Eventually, everything caught up to him, and he ended up serving five years in prison. It was during his time behind bars that he discovered his true passion for acting.
Upon his release from prison, Malik found himself at a crossroads. He had to decide whether to return to his old life or pursue his newfound passion for acting. With determination and a drive for change, Malik chose to chase his dream. Despite facing numerous challenges and setbacks, he persevered, honing his craft and eventually landing his first roles in movies like "8 Mile" alongside Eminem and Mekhi Phifer. Through hard work and dedication, Malik's talent caught the attention of industry professionals, leading to bigger opportunities in television and mainstream cinema. Today, he stands as a testament to the transformative power of following one's passion and never giving up on one's dreams, no matter the obstacles faced along the way.
