Another Honest Review! Thanks for the true test of those weapons. We knew, even as kids, that the “mall weapons” weren’t going to hold up to a lot of abuse, but we all wanted them anyhow….btw, nice yearbook pic. I remember refinishing my wooden nunchucks and straightening my ninja stars several times. I enjoyed reliving some of those memories while watching. Boy, you know how to break stuff!Good show. 🤣

Thanks Michael! It’s definitely a tough decision on the polls this week. I guess if I was forced to choose, I’d pick the badlands sword as the best and the alien axe as the cheesiest…but they were all pretty horrible😂. I hope you are having an excellent week!

Fun Video. Really enjoyed seeing you put the weapons through their paces. Never had Mall Ninja Weapons growing up here in Canada but we certainly made a few. You don't know fun/stupid until you've made your own throwing stars by using tin snips and then throwing them into targets/trees. It always ended up with one of us get a nice gash or a sliver from the poorly cut tin. Ahh, the old days. Loved the video.

The Dragon .. long dagger? Very short sword? It looked like the most useful out of them all. Just because it had a somewhat secure grip to keep the pointy bits away from the hand, and those all were pointed towards the target, and not the wielder. The club looked like a club, but broke like a toy, so I guess it would be good for a low budget movie prop. It somehow did not have the mall ninja outrageous ornaments, but still broke almost instantly. The alien axe at least looked cool, if as dangerous to the Arnold using it as to the poor predator.

@VTPSTTU2 жыл бұрын
First, thank you for putting on the safety glasses when testing the Alien Fantasy Axe. I was going to be squirming through that entire section of the video if you hadn't put on the safety glasses. Secondly, your demonstration shows that all kinds of oddly inappropriate items could be pressed into service as weapons in a desperate situation. The spiked club was damaged easily, but if you'd landed those blows on an attacker who wasn't armored, you'd have likely incapacitated him. Your club might fall apart, but you would have a good chance of surviving the encounter. Thirdly, you've asked two questions from two perspectives. I'll give the answers that fit those questions on the appropriate community tabs. I'll give a third answer here on the video. (I wish KZbin would give interaction credit per word of reply. My comments would be golden if KZbin did that.) I've done some amateur photography through the years, and I sometimes evaluate your weapons as photography props as well as weapons. Here, I'll give my ranking of them as photography props. 1. Apocalyptic spiked club - I haven't studied fighting in the Middle Ages and Dark Ages closely, but I've occasionally heard of peasant soldiers going into battle with spiked clubs as sidearms. I think most were armed with spears when their leader could find someone to make spear heads to affix to staffs. Otherwise, most of them probably had a staff as a primary weapon. The reach of a staff is always valuable. I can imagine them putting a loop of string on their belts and hanging the head of the club in the loop. That wouldn't be as fast to deploy as hanging by the handle, but it would mean that spikes wouldn't be hitting their thighs as they walked and fought. These spiked clubs wouldn't be elegant. The spikes wouldn't be sharpened because that would wear more on their clothes as they walked with the clubs on their belts. The spikes wouldn't be perfectly even or perfectly straight. The club material probably wouldn't be that strong. The spikes probably wouldn't be affixed that well. A dozen sold blows with the club would probably ruin it, but no one would expect peasant soldiers to live long enough to deliver a dozen blows with the club once they lost their spears. If the soldier managed to destroy the club and was still alive, he could pick up another weapon from a dead body on the battlefield. As a result, I think this spiked club would work well enough as a photography prop for a model wearing clothing to evoke a peasant soldier of those days. That could be a male model in fairly accurate clothing posing as a real peasant soldier who was a true warrior on the inside. That could be a female model doing the same thing or wearing skimpy clothing to create a sexy version of the idea. In any case, this club would work for that shot. In a post-apocalyptic world where people resorted to spiked clubs as weapons, I wouldn't expect great craftsmanship in the spiked clubs that most people were carrying. The lack of sharpening of the spikes wouldn't be a problem. Misalignment wouldn't be a problem. This club would be great as a photographic prop for that kind of shoot. 2. Spiked combat knuckle knife - In spite of all of its failings as a weapon, this knife could look cool as a photography prop. A model in a black leather jacket could hold one of these and look a little bit theatrical but would still convey the idea of being a street tough. In some ways, even the "mall ninja" look would fit that image. With a little bit of dirt and fake rust, this could work as something that street kids were using as they ran in gangs. The fact that the knife doesn't look genuinely useful still fits that idea. A gang of young street kids would go for flash more than function many times. I could see this knife working for a few kinds of photo shoots. 3. Flaming Dragon Blade - While the shiny finish of this knife would make setting up the flash angles important, the size and flashiness of the knife would attract attention. If I were doing a fantasy shoot, this knife could work. Granted, the profile of the knife reminds me of a shoe or maybe an ice skate. I could see welding two of them side-by-side with a seat between them and putting some kind of action figure in the seat as if it were a sleigh. I would be worried that someone looking at my pictures from a photo shoot would get the same idea and wonder why the model was holding something with the profile of a shoe. Even so, the size and flashiness of this knife could work for many kinds of fantasy images. 4. Hooked Badlands Sword - Obviously, the key rings would have to go. They are just silly. However, the holes where they have the key rings could be threaded with some kind of decorative thread or maybe even a fine chain. Small golden tassels hung on thick golden thread could work there. Even red or purple tassels on gold or silver thread could work. I might take a little bit of black JB weld and change the ring in the back so that it's not a perfect circle. As it is now, the ring in the back makes the whole sword look like a karambit with a glandular problem. With those changes, I think this sword could be a good fantasy photo prop. If I didn't need to remove the key rings myself, maybe I would rate it one higher. 5. Alien Fantasy Axe - I can't see myself having any use for this one as a photography prop unless I were shooting some kind of cheesy alien shoot. If the whole shoot is deliberately cheesy, then this might work.

good video. I'm surprised that any of those weapons worked but some (very few) actually did. If you showed this axe to a Viking he would probably faint from absurdity of it. a ninja would probably not understand what most of those weapons are supposed to be. and be pissed off by the idea that any of this is being associated with them. there are few weapons that if you have nothing else would be functional. but they are certainly not weapons you would take to the battle. also if you sell other ones of those weapons to a mercenary who is hired by army you might get your head chopped off for cheating him.

I would have liked to show off some more of the super-cheesy mall ninja weapons, but it’s our goal to not duplicate the weapons I’ve already shown in previous videos, and I’ve already tested and broken most of our best mall-ninja weapons before (like the skull claws and razor chain whip).
